'X-Men: Apocalypse' Cast: Famke Janssen Doesn't See Elle Fanning As Young Jean Grey 

\'X-Men: Apocalypse\' Cast: Rebecca Romijn Would \'Absolutely\' Reprise Mystique Role

Famke Janssen isn’t sure Elle Fanning would be the best person to play the younger Jean Grey in “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

During an interview with MTV news, Janssen was asked how she felt about the rumored casting call for “Apocalypse” looking for a younger version of her former “X-Men” character.

Actresses Chloe Grace Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld are reportedly testing for the young Jean Grey role, but the production has yet to confirm any casting news.

“I know all of them, of course. I love Elle Fanning, but I don\'t see about this much resemblance.  Well, maybe with a red wig or whatever.  Interesting,” Janssen said.

Janssen is a little sad to see Jean Grey played by another actress, but believes the “Apocalypse” team will do right by her charter.

“It is a little bitter sweet, but I’ve seen what they’ve done with the younger and older Magneto and Professor X…I think I’m in good company,” she told MTV.

Another character “Apocalypse” is allegedly looking to cast is young Cyclops, according to TheWrap.  Actor James Marsden played the character alongside Janssen in the original “X-Men” movies, but the production is reportedly looking to cast a relatively unknown actor to play the young Cyclops.

“What\'s clear at this point is that Singer is aiming high for the role of young Jean Grey, while the director seems more open to casting a fresh face as Cyclops,” according to TheWrap. 

“The on-and-off couple, often considered the emotional center of the ‘X-Men’ universe, have existed in the comics since the team was launched in the 1960s, with those younger versions recently transported to present day for a major arc under writer Brian Michael Bendis.”

Actors Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe and Timothee Chalamet are rumored to be testing for the Cyclops role.
