alot of people are sarcastic (like me) i dont think thats enough to report someone on, but ive had to deal with nastiness before you just have to stand your point and dont make it personal (like call them/you a name) if they do then just stop and maybe report them then but i personally havnt seen many cases of someone being a proper bitch to someone!

I see absolutely nothing wrong with sarcasm - in fact, I promote it. Nastiness can be debatable, depending on the degree, the context, etc... ;)

Sarcasm can be seen in a good way depending on the situation, nastiness, eg: bagging other peoples spots, content, verbally abusing people in forums however is not.

Thanks tooch, I've seen some pretty nasty comments and verbal abuse towards other users in forums and I think it's wrong, swearing at people is not the way to go, and I do swear but not at others for no reason.

I don't usually pick on my own fan pick questions,lol, but after a lot of thought this would be my option, there is too much drama for me anyway. Cheers.

I think sarcasm is good and funny if we don't hurt anyone. I just report someone if he/she is really rude to me or if she/he has really bad behaviour.

I try to just ignore them. I've tried fighting back to many people (not on Fanpop, on other sites) and I've usually been out-shamed or I know them in real life and they stop talking to me or stop liking me. Silly, I know.

Well it depends on the severity of the person. If its bad, I don't do anything about it. (I know, I know, bad thing of me to do shame on me!:) But if it's REALLY BAD (we all know what THAT means) then I usually report them. I can't stand MEAN people. I don't really mind sarcasm though. (In my book: BAD= SARCASM & REALLY BAD=MEAN.)

Sarcasm is only a problem for me when it is combined with the nastiness. After all, I'm a fan of the sarcasm club! But it's when people are punishing you for real or imagined slights that gets my goat. I honestly think the best option would be to "ignore them" (and I'm happy to see that most users have picked that), but in at least one circumstance, that's not what I've done, so I can't in all honesty answer that way. What should one do? Yes, definitely ignore them. What would I do? Sometimes, probably, I'd respond in kind, since I've done it before.

I have earned the ire of users in the past, from commenting on clearly miscategorized and untagged pictures without descriptions questions like: "What is this a picture of, and why do you think it belongs in this club?" Those users, instead of taking the question at face value, have assumed that I'm being sarcastic, rather than literally not having any idea how that picture relates to the topic of the club, and so they've gone off on me, attacking directly (insults) and indirectly (gossip). I don't handle that as well as I should; I don't always ignore it.
