Okay, this has been brewing in me for a while and I think that now is the time to bring it all out into the open.... I speak of the burgeoning conflict that is the rating-to-comment ratio.

Lets break this down; On numerous occasions, I have added various linken to many different sites, and always venture back to see what people think of the link, of their reaction to it (be that positive, negative, of even criticism towards me). But over the last few months it has become increasingly obvious that people are rating the link, but leaving no comment!

The way I see it, its like breaking into your neighbours house when they're out, having a look around and using their toilet (without flushing), and then not telling them when they get home.

I don't think I am being unreasonable in the suggestion that if u read a link, pick, soapbox, watch a video of whatever, that u also leave a commentaar afterwards. I'm not asking for u to write a new bible chapter in a comment, but just toon a little appreciation, of say what u thought... because u DID have a reaction to it... you're not some kind of Borg-like creature with no emotions! If you've gegeven it 5 stars, then say it was good... if you've gegeven it 1, then say why!

I like going back to something I geplaatst and seeing the response of the fanpoppers.... it's like publishing a book and reading the reviews afterwards... u find out what the fans did/didn't like and can either feel pleased with yourself, of react accordingly.

In some cases (mostly with Picks) there is a vraag that could really spleet, split the field and prove to be debate-tastic... yet people seemingly vote for controversial choices, and then don't explain themselves! Its like an Army Chief announcing that the only way to achieve world peace is to kill all Gay people... then running away to do it! u can't say, of agree to, something like that and then not explain yourself!

But mostly I think the issue lies within the '5 ster Ratings'... whenever something is rated '5 Stars' it seems to be then that people don't respond, as if they feel they don't have to commentaar after giving it a top, boven rating. Whenever I see such a link with NO comments... its like when u saw the cloned Ripley's in Alien Resurrection.... there is just no soul (and they might as well be deformed).

As for the linken with meer ratings than comments, it's like something is missing... like someone has stolen from the link, but not gegeven back. So (at risk of sounding like a Telethon) lets do it, lets give back...

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this artikel because I believe the new uithangbord system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.

I’ve been on fanpop for quite some time now, and I’ve received and gegeven quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the complimenten I received were ‘real props’. To clarify: door ‘real props’ I mean complimenten received for actual content I’ve submitted. All the other complimenten were ‘thanks for being a fan – props’ of ‘happy whatever dag u came...

Reason For This Article

Recently i finally found how to screencap a page on the internet. I had been looking for ages and finally i found out how to.Naturally i was very pleased and was waiting for a chance to use it.
 My Joy was short lived
My Joy was short lived

Days went by,days turned into weeks and after a maand and a half i found nothing. For the times i had been on fanpop i had read the funniest, silliest things in spots and now that i could finally share them ,everyone became sensible?
 It felt like that unfortunately

After my long wait i got a message, but it wasn't what i was hoping for. I was expecting...

This is a little game I made up just because I was bored. I enjoy it, so I figured I’d share it.
Just a warning: This game is only fun if there’s a spot you’ve added a lot of afbeeldingen to, but enough have been added door other people to make it challenging.

So, the object of the game is to... get lots of points? And to encourage proper image etiquette.

Be sure to keep something handy to keep track of your points! (Paper and pencil, blank word document, calculator, etc.)

Step 1: Maneuver over to your favoriete spot (or preferably, the spot you’ve contributed the most afbeeldingen to)

Step 2: Look at...

The Fanwhore: Have u ever been added door someone, and then when u went to their profiel to possibly add them back, saw only posts with things like "Thanks for the add!" as far as the eye could see? Congrats, you've just met a Fanwhore. This person is pretty much just obsessed with getting fans. They can spend hours adding people, and will usually add back anyone who adds them. They tend to have obscenely large numbers of fans, and to get them obscenely fast. Can go ballistic if they haven't gained at least five new fans in the last hour.
Also, some Fanwhores tend to reform after a while,...

Nobody likes it when others ruin their fun door telling them the end of the story. Some people just aren't as caught up with others because they're busy of haven't gotten around to it. Whether it's your favoriete TV toon and you're a few episodes behind of a book that u haven't read yet, the last thing u want is for someone to tell u what happens. Spoilers can ruin the fun for everyone else and the last thing we want to do is take the fun out of your favoriete stuff.

A lot of users were unhappy when fans were making picks that were spoilers during the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly...

Alright, so this is sort of in conjunction with a lot of other soapbox articles, namely Temptasia's two artikels on link and link. It is also a sister artikel to thecon's link. Additionally, it's minutely related (like a very distant cousin) to megloveskyle's artikel on link. But I really wanted to stress the importance of constructive criticism here. So at the risk of sounding (exceptionally) redundant, I wish to discuss the importance of expressing yourself, taking responsibility for your actions, and not rating and running. Forgive me if this is all too familiar (thecon's artikel summed...

Part one can he found link
Lately I have noticed a swell in the amount of inappropriate comments. commentaren that have sexual innuendo, are hurtful, of are just plain gross, and most of the time they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. What I fail to grasp is why people feel like they need to do this. I can't understand why they can't control themselves and write something appropriate of nothing at all. Is it a lack of sense of humor? Do they not realize that people spend a lot of time contributing to this site and a commentaar like that can make all their efforts feel wasted? of do they not...

The door to Fanpop is always open
The door to Fanpop is always open
I have had technology since I was three. Playing link and link on my SNES against/with my family (parents included!) were part of my childhood. I came onto the internet when I was around eleven, still fueled door a need for technology, rarely seen without my Gameboy and link in it. I had to, as most people, find a place on the internet to settle into. I tried many places, first setting myself up a site at link, probably back when Dave and papa were still there and hadn't even started to think of Fanpop yet.

As I grew older and meer knowledgable about the internet and life in general, I went searching...
