Concept
Fanpop's Got Talent (FGT) is an annual talent competition. In this contest, Fanpop Users compete door submitting some material to the FGT spot that demonstrates some talent during a set submission period. After that period ends, the body of Fanpop Users then vote on their top, boven choices, which are relayed to a panel of judges for the final decision. The winner gets kudos and a warm glowy feeling.
Judging
The duties of a judge are essentially to tally stemmen and provide feedback to participants - they do not actually do any judging beyond each casting their own vote. Instead, they are meer like moderators.
In 2009, there are four judges, continuing in the role from last year's pool of judges and judge alternates. They are:

* "fanpop's got talent"
In addition, the following rules also apply to certain types of submissions:

Links: u may link to other content that demonstrates your talent (either on Fanpop of elsewhere), but u are encouraged to post of link to new content, rather than something that is "old" to the users and judges.
Deadline
All submissions must be geplaatst to the spot during the submission period. For FGT 2009, the submission period started at 00:00 GMT on 8 June 2009 and runs through 23:59 GMT on 4 July 2009.
For FGT 2008, the submission period started at 00:00 PT on 14 June 2008 and ran through 23:59 PT on 4 July 2008.
Voting
As entries are submitted, users may rate and commentaar on the submissions as usual. This does not in any way relate to the actual voting for the competition.
Voting begins immediately after the submission period ends, and lasts for one (1) week. An artikel listing all of the FGT entries will be geplaatst shortly after the submission period closes, for easy reference.
When voting, each user may cast two votes: his/her first choice and his/her seconde choice. In voting, users are encouraged to vote solely on the basis of the entry and the talent(s) the participant has specified. When judging the talent(s), users should also consider the five following criteria:
1) Showmanship
2) Effort
3) Difficulty
4) Entertainment value
5) Originality
The stemmen are cast door sending a message with "FGT <year> voting" as the subject to the appropriate judge. For FGT 2009, the full details of voting will be revealed later.
For FGT 2008, the rules stated that which judge u send your vote to depended on the first character of YOUR username, as follows:
* If your gebruikersnaam started with any number of the letters A - H, then your vote was sent to link
* If your gebruikersnaam started with any letter from I to Q, then your vote was sent to link
* If your gebruikersnaam started with any letter from R - Z, then your vote was sent to link
If u send your stemmen with the wrong subject line of to the wrong judge, it may get lost in the shuffle, so vote carefully!
Competition/determining a winner
The judges tally the stemmen of the users and announce first, seconde and third place winners after the week-long period of voting is completed. Those winners get the acclaim of their peers and maybe some graphic embellishments (personalized icons, for instance) as prizes, as well as that warm glowy sensation.

This information is available in the spot already, but I, at least, found it baffling trying to find it all and keep it straight in my head. So I've gathered it here. If I've missed anything of got something wrong, please let me know so I can (and will) correct it.
