Homophobes. Whenever my mom sees one of those, she's like, "I hope their son or daughter turns out to be gay."

If I put a bumper sticker on my car with some religious signs and the phrase: 'Grownups with imaginary friends are stupid', religious people would be offended too. Let's all be a little more open-minded and understanding!

Mum isn't homophobic, she has nothing against gays (she even wanted a gay as new colleague) but she still thinks a guy shouldn't marry another guy or a woman shouldn't marry another woman. It doesn't mean she's hateful towards gay. IMO it doesn't mean anything.
Okay we don't have a bumper sticker but I don't think people who have ones are obviously homophobic. Most of them are. But not all of them.

I know people that aren't homophobic and are "for the gays" but they don't want them to marry. To me, that's just ignorant. How are you supporting them, how are you "for them" if you're suppressing their rights?

EDIT: Although there are people who have those bumper stickers for that reason: to publicly display their hate of gays.

In this country we see hateful things EVERYWHERE! And we say we are the land of the free! This is definately a discrimination towards the couples of same sex. I once saw something in a local Wal-maart that read : "Curse Steve for loving Adam, not Eve" That got my blood boiling!

Sometimes I wish people like that were banished from the earth.. Or at least us sensible people can have our own country.

The only reason someone would be opposed to changing the laws on marriage is because they truly believe that same-sex romantic relationships are not as "normal" or "important" as heterosexual relationships. Does it mean they throw rocks at queer people walking down the street? Probably not. But they don't see them as fully human, either, and that's hate, plain and simple.
