I saw a televisie program once long geleden with Cindy Crawford, she had spoke of Gia very crudely, the program was supposed to be based on the glorious life of a supermodel so talk of Gia was far & Few. No one ever really cared much for her, everyone was jealous of her because she made a statement of beauty back in the day. The only person who I believe truly loved her as a friend, would have to been Francesco Scavullo. Also it is just the fact that word didn't get around of her death, she kind of just disappeared into the atmosphere.

After her death it was revealed that Gia Carangi was, unfortunately, a heroin addict, and probably contracted the HIV virus from sharing syringes and needles with other addicts.
