Grease has groove and meaning, it’s the time, the place, the motion, and the way we are feeling. That describes the word in the song. Back in 1963, 15 years before Grease, a band called The Trashmen released a song called Surfin’ Bird. The lyrics are “Bird, bird, bird, bird is the word.” Is that all he sings in the song?
