I know this is kind of late considering this movie released I beleive right after Halo 3 ODST but a lot of people have not seen it. Halo Legends is an anime movie with seven additional Halo stories put into 8 episodes. All of the episodes have different anime styles. The movie is very simular to the Animatrix but on a much meer massive scale. The first story(episodes 1 and 2) is the Origins story. This story is broken up into 2 parts. Cortana is the story teller. She is telling the story to the Master Chief while he is sleeping in cryo sleep post Halo 3. The story she tells goes way back to the time of the Forerunners conflict with the Flood all the way up to around post Halo 3. She of course is going through rampancy, so alot of the story she is telling is all out of wack and does not fit with how everything really happened. But nonetheless, the story covers a large spand of time within just a few minutes.
    The seconde story of the movie is the Dual(episode 3). This is a story about the change of the rank of Arbiter going from being a rank of high command and honor, to the rank of suicide and nothing. The setting of the story is on sanhelios way before the Covenant war began. This is a time where a lot of the Elites still used metal swords. The main character is an Elite Ariter with the first name Fal(not sure what the last name is). He does not like the direction that the Covenant are taking his people. He prefers honor, and the covenant prefer power. So of course this sparks conflict. One of what I think is the High Prophets, turns the rank of Arbiter into a mark of shame. The Prophet also decides to have Fal's wife murdered. Fal wants revenge so he literaly takes on an entire Army of Covenat soldiers consisting of mostly Elites with some commanding Ghosts and Wraiths, a handful of Grunts and Jackals, and a pair of massive Hunters. The Hunters are about the size of a Scarab tank, but are outfitted with their normal armor. I'm not revealing anymore about that story. u will just have to check it out for yourself if u have not seen it yet.
    The third story(episode 4) is called Homecoming. It is about a Spartan 2 named Daisy. It tells some back story to the Spartan 2 project and at the same time shows her and some Marines fighting to save and escape a colony world. As far as the back story of the S2 project, it shows madeliefje, daisy and a few other S2 candidates(one named Ralph), escaping the training facilty on Reach and going back to their homes to find thier Flash clones(some of the clones may have already expired). When madeliefje, daisy returns to her home pagina world, she goes home pagina and finds her clone. She relizes how sick the clone is and is alive(probably do to how wealthy her parent are). She is very upset and unholsters her side arm. She is tempted to shoot the clone but does not. I'll let u see the rest of that. Back to the combat aspect. madeliefje, daisy and the Marines make their way to a spot where they where they can be extracted. They of course are shooting their way there. Ounce there a heavily armed pelikaan arrives to get the squad. The Marines make it to the pelikaan but madeliefje, daisy is stuck under an overturned Warthog. The Marines try to fight off the Covenant but there are to many. The pelikaan is destroyed and madeliefje, daisy dies of a Needler burst in the proccess(this was of course back before most of the S2 had energy shielding). Later the John S117 shows up to find madeliefje, daisy dead.
    The fourth story(episode 5) is called Odd One Out. This story is completely non-canocal. It is meer of a funny unserious episode. I'm not going into any details with this episode. u will have to check it out for yourself. What I will say is that there will possibly be a sequel to it one day.
    The fifth story(episode 6) is called Protoype(the sequel to this story is the short story/motion comic Midnight in the hart-, hart of Midlothian). This is one of the meer deeper stories of the movie. It tells a story of a Marine whose nick-name is Ghost. This Marine has had a rough time fighting the Covenant. He lost his entire squad to the Covenant in one battle. Later the story jumps to the planet Algolis where the UNSC is trying to evacuate civilians from the planet. This planet is used door the UNSC to make Cyclopses, and other vital equipment for the UNSC. One of those pieces of equipment is a suit that can be used door reglar humans without any augmentations but with an almost certain fatality rate. Ghost uses this suit to hold back the Covenant long enough for the remaining Marines to escape the Planet. The suit is very powerful. It has 2 rocket/missle launchers. One fires homing rockets while the other fires meer powerful point and aim rockets. One of the arms has a powerful 20mm chain gun while the other arm can be used as a meele weapon powerful enough to slice an Elite in half. The suit also has a bubble shield. Despite all this power, the suit is brought down and Ghost uses a voice command to detenate what seemed like an atomic explosion which destroyed the suit, the Covenant, and the UNSC facilties within that area.
    The sixth story(episode 7) is called the Babysitter. This is a very detailed episode. It tells the story of a mission that the 105th ODST squad, and S2 named Kal 141 had to go on to kill a minor Prophet in order stop a Covenat supply chain between different Covenant contolled worlds. I'm not going into a lot of detail with this episode, but I will say that this episode is action packed, and that the squad finds ancient alien ruins that nobody knows whose they are. This episode is also zei to one dag have a sequel. Check it ou for yourself.
    The seventh and last story story(episode 8) is called the Package. This is probably the most action packed episode aside from Prototype. In this episode, the Master Chief and his squad consisting of Fred, Kelly, Salomon, and Aurthor, are sent on a mission door ONI to rescue Dr. Halsey. The Covenat captured her somehow(maybe on a colony world, a ship, of something) and she has a lot of important knowledge that the Covenat cannot find out about. The S2 squad uses Booster Frames to minorly assualt a Covenant fleet and board the ship which houses Halsey. The Booster Frames have dual 20mm Chain Guns, Archer raket Pods, a small MAC gun(in between a Guass kanon and a Mass Driver), and a backup Vulcan torentje which folds out of the top, boven of the Booster Frame. Due to a trick door one shipmaster of the fleet, Salomon boards the wrong ship and the Covenant blow up the ship killing him. Aurthor dies while trying to cover Kelly from Seraph fire. His Booster Frame gets caught in a tight space and explodes. The remaining squad finds the Flag Ship and boards it. One thing that I like about this part is that it shows upsized S2 weapons. Anyway the squad runs through the ship fighting wave after wave of Covenant troops when an Elite Major with a squad of Elites suprise the Spartans and haults them for a minute. Since it would have been a lot of close hand to hand combat, Fred stays behind to hold the Elites back(fred is good with knives), while John and Kelly continue. The Shipmaster starts breaking up the ship in sections and the Spartans get caught in the middle of it. With Kelly floating in space, the Master Chief jumps and grabs her hand. She then spins him 180 degrees and tosses him threw the door on the Ship. Ounce inside and alone, John finds Dr. Halsey and gets her out of Cryo sleep. Ounce she is awake, the two run through halls and doors until they run across the Major Elite that haulted him earlier. The Master Chief opens brand with his MA5B(Spartan Version) but the Major deflects most of the ballistics with his energy sword. The Major challenges the Chief to a dual and tosses him an energy sword. They approach each other then fight. The Major kicks the Chief down and may have killed him but the Ship Master used a gravity lift to pick the Major up and then the ship breaks off that section that the Chief and Halsey are in. They luckily get on a life boot and escape the ship and make it back on the ONI ship. Kelly and Fred also survive and make it back to the ship.(I think it's a Prowler since it has Camo) At the end of the episode the Chief says that they are just getting started!
    There u have some details on the Stories. Now I will tell u what else the films has. I have the Blu-ray version. I did have the standard DVD until I got the Blu-ray version. The Blu-ray version has exclusive content that the standard does not have. I believe that there is a limited edition. If there is I do not know what is on it. The Blu-ray version has commentary door Frank O' Connor and Joseph chou. It also has Halo-Gaming Evoved which just goes into detail about what Halo has done for the world of gaming and the direction 343i is going to take the Franchise. It is very interstung to watch. It also has Halo-the Story so far. This explains very bluntly the Halo Universe from the Forunner conflict with the Flood all the way up the post Halo 3. Yes it sounds like Origins but it's not. The movie also of course has the making of each episode. It shows mostly Frank O' Connor and Joseph chou going to Japan and talking to the Studios that made the episodes. This is also interesting to watch. And in case for some change reason u have not played Halo Reach yet, it has a trailer for the game. The trailer is kind of off as to how the story is but it was just made to look really cool and exciting. So if u have not got this movie yet, u definetly should. It is totally worth a few bucks and gets u closer to the Halo Universe!
