I'm Curious to know. ^-^ I am really interested on other countries ratings from what i have gathered i think in the states it is rated MA(youtube wouldn't let me watch it XD but i have the DVD now so it's all good) in Australia is only rated M which i think is a good rating. i think 15+ is a good age to watch Hetalia what do you think?

What is MA in the states? MA15+ in Australia is 'for those 15 and older' though 'M' is 'recomended for those 15 and older.'

It might be rated MA for language, sexual themes, and sensitive topics (inside jokes about political things and war, etc). Though, the only sex-related thing I remember is the episode about Grandpa Rome and masturbation..

The ratings from Funimation pissed me off,not only for Hetalia but in general the animes they produce.
Originally the anime was recomended for +14 audiences not +18
The only thing that about make it a 'M' rating is the language but other than that I think it should be rated for teenagers

there`s alot of jokes in it people 17 & under wouldn`t get unless they are familiar with political & religious jokes. *and maybe the sex jokes too*

i Get them as i take History and i have taken it ever since i started high school.

i think 15+ is the best age for watching hetalia. i dont think smaller kids would be interested in it or even understand everything^^

i must agree with donata, younger kids wouldn`t be that interested in it since they wouldn`t understand the political things that go on in it.
and okay, i may be 13, but what the heck, i watch it, i get some of the stuff. *i mostly understand the sex jokes in it, alot of the political stuff just flies over my head, but a couple of the political ones i do understand*

My sister watched it and she's 12, I say atleast 13+ if anything.

I disagree with the 18+ rating... I'm fifteen, watched it and I was just fine! However, there are some swear words/nudity/sexual things that I think are not suitable for youngsters. I'd rate it a 13+, but I picked 15+ to make my point.

My 10 year old sister watches it. I don't think it should be rated 18+ at all xD

Below 15 seems like a fair rating because I mean it's not like there's anything all too serious some jokes and the language might get big a times might be but still 18 + doesn't seem all that consistent or fair at that but even in 15 you the words and I agree with pumpkinqueen I think 13 plus is a better rating at the least.

There's a reason it's rated for this, and it's so young kids don't repeat the things they say that are suggestive. Kids don't understand that stuff smd will go off saying it wherever they want. Plus, even if they cover it up,
if someone goes naked in a show (Sorry France fans, but he has) it can't be rated low enough for 15 year old to watch. Plus, the launege is bad, if you have enough swear words (Romano) in a show, that also boosts up the ratings. Trust me, if it should be rated 15 and IP (or 13+) my Japanese teacher who is in charge of my school's anime club would let us watch it in there, but she doesn't. It's stupid to question what the makers rate it, they rate it for a reason. And just because it's rate something doesn't mean you can't watch it. The only way you'll be restricted from watching it is if they ever make a movie for theaters. So just stop complaining and watch it.

Under 15 for sure i'm 13 im watching it why 18??? its not that bad I have a 9 year old sister who watches it and completely understands everything.

just saying,

Hetalia is officially a seinen manga, which means it's for people (mainly guys) over 17 years old.
The anime is softer though, but still not soft enough for kids. I'd say 15+ is a good age rating for the anime.
