I can't stand Gryffindors, they think they're better than everyone else and always have to be a bloody hero. People think that we Slytherins are cowards, but just because we're too freaking SMART to get freaking KILLED defending people does not mean we're COWARDLY! It means we know that life is the greatest thing u can possess. Hufflepuffs too! They're like puppies who are devoted to people and eager to please. And don't get me started on Ravenclaws, study study study work work work, I'm the smartest and the rest of u are just stupid.

I did not think at all while writing that. (I didn't mean any of it either, btw)

But that is an EXAMPLE of writing a commentaar and hitting POST without thinking about how other people will feel about it.

If u plan to say anything about another house, u have to stop and think about what will happen if u post it. Even if you're just saying, "I don't think Gryffindors are always brave", u need to be able to defend that point while not offending anyone. This is a RIVALRY spot. There will be debates. Not fights, not arguments, DEBATES. If u can't at least reasonably defend your point without insulting anyone, don't bother.

Example:

Person1: "__________ is the most overrated house!"

Person2: "That isn't true because _____ ______ and _____. Don't insult my house."

Person1: "Oh you're right. Never mind then :)"

WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT?

There is no point. So don't make it happen.

LinaHarrow That first paragraph scared me. I was all: "[i]Lexa![/i] What has gotten into you?" Then I read on and agreed. ^_^ Hey. You talked about thinking before posting, not thinking while reading. Lol.

boolander25 Well, I can see where you're coming from with your first paragraph, but sometimes that is what people post after they think and there's nothing wrong with that. If they can back up what they posted, like you said, isn't it alright to post a comment like the example you gave?

Ninja-Kitten Yes that would be perfectly alright. Except that in all the situations I've seen, that's not the case. All it takes is one logical argument and the original poster backs down.

Poseidon3 Uh, yeah. That was supersaiyan5. He um, had just realized the true meaning of your article after he had commented. He deleted it because he missed the fact that you didn't really mean what you wrote in the first paragraph.

Ninja-Kitten Not exactly. I like defending my point and hearing what other people think. It doesn't have to be a debate, it could just be a casual chat. Though you shouldn't listen to idle gossip. From the horse's mouth, so to speak, is much better.
