I really appreciate the sentiment, and I know that you guys only had good intentions, but in the future it could be a good idea to ask the person or people before doing this kind of thing. Like I said, I really do appreciate the sentiment, but this kinda embarrassing and it makes be look like a bit of a hypocrite...

Its ok. I mean, I haven't been involved in this competition for a while, except for when the picks appear to pick the winners, so I guess it was quite a shock to see that I was the subject of this round. And it is such a bizarre coincidence that this kind of thing is quite a debate in the Fanpop Users spot right now.

I don't think it makes you a hypocrite how does it do that? Anyway yeah love this one :D.

What's a debate in the FP Users spot?

The debate is about lots of picks just being popularity contests.

There has been discussion about "popularity picks" and how some users are promoted over others. And my position on it is that I don't approve of popularity picks because the people who aren't included in them will either 1) ignore it and get on with their lives (which is a good thing!), or 2) add heaps and heaps of crap because that is what they think it takes to get noticed, or 3) leave Fanpop because they think aren't getting the respect or famous-ness that they think they deserve. So I really don't like it when individual users are singled out like this, because Fanpop is about sharing in a community, not singling out individuals. Unless we intend doing every single fan on this spot, then this kinda thing suggests that I am someone significant, when we are all as significant as each other. That is also why I don't participate in the Fan of the Month picks on this spot, but I haven't said anything so far because people seem to enjoy it.

I guess I just don't like the idea that some Fanpoppers are promoted over others, especially when there is no reason to do that. And I guess I need to make it clear that while I am flattered and humbled that you guys thought I was cool enough to do this about, I can't support the attitude that it sends.

I really don't want anyone to think that I am being a bitch about this. I just feel pretty weird about, thats all.

missy you really aren't, that's fair enough, but arguably this isn;t exactly anything to do with popularity, everyone appreciates you and you being appreciated doesn;t make us feel any worse about ourselves. Actually, i wish i'd realized this was happening, because i would go with Miss House Spot '08
