It was late in the afternoon, and Cuddy was feeling restless. Even though House didn’t like to toon his feelings to the people around him, he showed his feelings in peculiar ways; stalking, stealing files…all these things were negative qualities in other people but not in House. His need to understand the details was a gift he enjoyed using both at work and in his personal life.

Watching Cuddy from afar as she dealt with a difficult patient in the clinic, he loved watching her. Most people could only see the boisterous boss, dominant female, but from House’s viewpoint he could see the other, calm and delicate Cuddy.

“It’s just a sore throat…nothing to panic over.” She ripped the prescription pad sheet and handed it to the patient, who was a chronic hypochondriac. After she sent him on his way, she leant back on the door, tired and fed up she let out a soft sigh. Something that House smiled slightly over.

House got a page from his team, he took one last look before leaving to clean up the mess his team had made.

House was in his office, the team had all gone home pagina but he was left with his red ball, throwing it up into the air and catching it as he stared into the distance. He had come to a decision about Cuddy and his child; he remembered when he was younger and his father would treat him so badly, and how he allowed himself to hate so much because of the things his alleged father did to him. House began psychoanalysing himself, his trust issues stemming from the recklessness of his father made him think that he could never reach this point in his lifetime, but now that he has the choice of reaching that point will he screw it up of embrace it?
Cuddy stepped out of the elevator, and made her way to House’s office. The sight of her made House lose his train of thought, and he put the ball down on his desk.

“Hey” House had his feet up on the bureau but took them off and relaxed back into his chair, Cuddy smiled sweetly at him, before taking a zitplaats, stoel in front of his desk.

“I just wanted to toon u this.” Cuddy handed House the ultrasound picture.

“It’s from a maand ago, but I thought u might want to see it…” House held it in his hand, Cuddy smiled as she watched him look at it in disbelief.

“It’s a girl?” House zei this, and looked up at Cuddy, who nodded with a weak smile.

“I knew you’d know…” House offered to give it back-

“You can keep it…I haven’t come to a decision yet.” Cuddy sounded disappointed in herself, and heartbreaking.

“I’ll be here, when u do.” House put the picture in his blazer pocket, and Cuddy smiled and nodded in agreement. They looked at each other, their eyes telling so much meer than words ever could.

“Good night House.” Cuddy stood up, and left. House watched, as Cuddy walked away. His eyes closing, before he reached for his Vicodin bottle and looked at how many pills were left. It was still nearly full after a week, close to a lifetime record for House. He felt both emotional and physical pain, but unable to differentiate between both of them, he took two extra pills meer than his new routine dosage.

He closed his eyes once more, seeing Cuddy’s face he immediately felt a sense of guilt. Clenching his fist, he slammed the uithangbord in anger. It was another reason why he wasn’t father material; his addiction was consuming him, even after all of the time and effort he put into the new routine.

House was left in the dimly lit office, as the corridor lights outside his office were switched off. A sudden realisation of the truth crushed him inside as he was left to suffer alone in silence…
