Before the ER began filling up with the drunks and the late night car crash victims, House left, signing his own discharge papers. He wanted to get lost, feel lost, literally. He had rocked the un-steady ship that contained his only two friends, and instead of ignoring it, he accepted the harsh responsibility for whatever consequences came after it.

Looking up into the black sky, he could see faint sparkles of stars, and then a low grumble, as it began to rain slightly. Wilson’s apartment was a few miles, but he knew Cuddy’s home pagina was only a few blocks. With the morphine in full effect, he was able to hail a cab, and caught a ride into Cuddy’s neighbourhood, walking for another five minutes, until he saw her home pagina lit up, the only one alive at this time in the morning.

Pausing for a moment, he limped up the small hill, towards her door. Not knowing what he would do, of say, he knocked on her door. Cuddy was in her pyjamas, her eyes puffy from crying, and her morale at it’s lowest.

“Lucas?” Cuddy opened the door, her face falling back into a blank stare, as she saw House standing there.

“Go home pagina House.” Cuddy began to close the door in his face, but he held the door open with his arm.

House’s phone went off, he checked it, and saw it was Wilson. He hung-up on him, before looking back at Cuddy, he could tell how long she had been crying door the redness of her eyes.

“I’m sorry.” House by-passed the sarcastic insults, and told her how he really felt.

Cuddy lowered her head, trying to force herself not to listen to him, and not to become trapped in the vicious cycle they had been in for years.

“You’re the reason, why I no longer have someone who loves me, around. Lucas left, and I’m not putting all the blame on u but-” Cuddy paused, and smiled slightly, before she looked back into his eyes, and nodded. She was done making excuses for him.

“You know what? This time, I am. I’m done. I’m done with this thing between us. I actually, I actually wanted u to prove everyone else, including the board, that u were worth it. I’ve been telling myself that for years. That u are worth everything I have sacrificed.”

Cuddy held onto the door, and she watched House’s hand slide away from it. Rachel began to cry in the background. “Goodbye House.” As she closed the door, House caught a look of sincerity in her eyes, with a look of sadness.

As the door closed, House stood there, and whispered “I love you” Before turning around, and seeing the face of Lucas; carrying two large travel bags in one hand, and roses in the other. He stood in shock, as he overheard House’s personal words.

House’s phone began to ring out, and this time, he answered it. Wilson was shouting on the other end, asking where he was, and House told him. Closing his phone, he felt intimidated door Lucas’s presence.

“I’m sorry.” House’s voice was deep, and heavy. Lucas couldn’t give him a reply. When House caught Wilson’s car in the distance, he slowly walked down the steps, past Lucas.

Wilson looked from inside the car, at Lucas and House exchanging a slightly defensive look. When House opened the door, he looked out at Lucas, who was near the door.

Taking his time to get into gear, door the time they began to drive off, House watched the heartbreaking reunion of Lucas and Cuddy. At the same time, he wished it were he who she was hugging. Wilson could see House looking out at the rear view mirror, and looked back at the road, sighing to himself as he felt House’s pain.

“Are u okay?” Wilson didn’t really know what House’s answer would be. “I’m fine.” House’s firm answer and lack of emotion showed Wilson that he wasn’t, not door far.
