"I remember as we slept, I held my palm softly against your right breast. I could feel your pulse, and as I traced your nipple and felt u lean against my hand even more, I realized how hard I could fall for you." House zei from his zitplaats, stoel on the sofa. Cuddy stopped her packing and walked to sit near him.
"Is that why u weren't there when I woke up?"
He smiled sadly and turned to meet her eyes.
"I'm sorry that I left...If I hadn't..."
"What? u think we'd be married now?" She asked with a curious gaze.
He chuckled bitterly and stood up.
"No...I'd screw it up somehow...However, maybe if I had stayed, then we would at least be sharing this hotel room, instead of me doubling up with Wilson...and Lucas would be with some other single mother who is desperately trying to verplaats on from the one man who makes her hart-, hart full of fire."
Cuddy closed her eyes briefly and then stood up beside him.
"I didn't want to keep it from you..."
"It's okay, Cuddy. I was in the loony bin and u had time to think things over..."
She walked closer to him and placed a hand on his chest.
"You do bring out the brand in me and sometimes the ice...and I would never ask for anything else, but it's not just me anymore." She zei as she gestured to her sleeping daughter. House put a hand over top, boven of where Cuddy's rested on his chest.
"Just because I wasn't that guy before doesn't mean I can't try to be that guy now...I wasn't willing then, but I am willing now."
Cuddy kissed his hand and then met his eyes once more.
"I know u are, but maybe I'm not."
His eyes closed for a moment and then he drew her hand away. He started for the door. Cuddy shook her head to herself feeling unsure of her decision.
"House, It doesn't mean I don't care about you..."
House stopped at the door and on impulse limped back to her and invaded her personal space.
"You meer than care about me... someone told me once that u can't feel that much guilt without love." He zei before gently kissing her cheek. Cuddy shivered under the sensation.
"Good night, Lisa." He zei as he finally left her room.
