Being loved door many, IU received The Most populair Vocalist award at the 2014 MAMA, held at the AWE in Hong Kong on December 3.

After a short tribute video, looking back on all of IU′s achievements as well as praise from noteworthy artists, like Yoo Hee Yoel, Seo Taiji, and more, IU was honored with The Most populair Vocalist award.

“First of all, this is my first time coming to MAMA and I was worried that I would be nervous. So I would like to thank all those who told that I would have a good experience door coming here, stated IU in her thank u speech.

"If u zoek IU now, this award will pop up so I will try hard to become a vocalist who does not make this award embarrassing. I would like to thank all the colleagues and sunbaenims who collaborated with me. I worked with a lot of people this jaar so volgende year, I will try to toon IU who does well on her own too. Lastly, I would like to thank all the fans. Thank you."
