I found this list of "Top 10 Useless Characters" (link), and look who is at #10! Does anyone else find it absolutely appalling that the author of this article even considered listing Mady on a list with fictional characters? Yes, Mady may have her "bratty" moments, but most children do. People have to realize that Mady is a real child with feelings, and that articles like this are very degrading and may have a huge psychological impact on her.
