So, who would stand door her husband when he’s accused of being a serial rapist?

Actress Gayatri Bahl was brought in to do exactly that in last night’s “Decaying Morality” episode of LAW & ORDER: SVU.

I had a chance to catch up with Gayatri Bahl to find out meer about her experience working on the show.


What can u tell us about your role in “Law & Order: SVU”?

GAYATRI: I play the wife of the prominent dentist, Dr. Neil Alexander, played door Paul Adelstein ("Scandal," "Private Practice"), who gets caught up in the investigation.

How was it to work alongside this veteran cast?

GAYATRI: Kind of surreal! They have really been doing this for such a long time, but they are still all so friendly, humble and welcoming :)

What would u consider your characters ‘best’ quality? And their ‘worst’?

GAYATRI: Her best is that she 'stands door her husband'.
Her worst is that, well, she 'stands door her husband, no matter what'.

Any interesting stories from the set u can share with us?

GAYATRI: I actually started out in Bollywood and Danny Pino was really interested in how the biz is out there. He took the time to learn about where I started out and why I'm now in NYC. It was cool to see that level of curiosity in someone who is such a well-known TV Star.

What’s the biggest lesson u learned from working on this project?

GAYATRI: Stay passionate. Stay committed. The SVU cast and crew are just as excited about this coming episode as we are, even though they've been doing it for 16 years!

GAYATRI: OOOH. Hmm. South Indian Food. mm. Saravana Bhavan in the Murray heuvel :)).
