Ash is vrienden with Giratina, and u can see there is an episode of Diamond and Pearl that a trainer has caught a Heatran, and if that trainder can catch a Heatran, so can Ash, and also the last battle for Diamond and Pearl, Ash fought a guy who has caught a Darkrai and a Latios . So, Ash can catch a legendary, but he chooses to be vrienden from a distance instead . Legendaries have important things to do in their lives .
