Adam Brody & Leighton Meester Joke About Having 'Seth & Blair Day' Once a jaar 

Ultra-private couple Leighton Meester and Adam Brody don’t open up about their personal lives often, but when they do, it’s every bit as adorable as you might imagine.

On Tuesday, the stars stopped by Para Los Niños Charter School in Los Angeles to serve lunches to children through Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization. Speaking to 

, the pair joked about the fact that two of the most beloved TV characters,

‘s Seth Cohen — who, not to mention, were complete opposites — ended up together in real life.

So do they celebrate that? “Occasionally,” they both agreed — though they admitted they never actually watched each other’s shows.

“Once a year we have a Seth and Blair day — we dress up,” joked Brody, 37. “It’s good for a laugh.”

“It doesn’t excite us, I think, because we’re just human beings,” said Meester, 31. “But it’s exciting to us that it’s exciting to you. It’s cool.”

The couple, who wed in 2014, also share 22-month-old daughter Arlo Day — and while they acknowledged she’s too young to have joined them for the charity event, they’re still trying to instill certain values in her.

“I think that it’s really important to show your children that there are different sides to everything,” said Meester.

“It’s something that people I think don’t talk about — this is a crisis,” added Meester. “This is a summer hunger campaign for the awareness of all the kids in America that don’t have food during the summer. So I think you sort of take that for granted, and to just instill in your children … and also remember yourself — you’re super lucky. It’s good to reach out and to help and just to remember that.”
