You wish you could tell your story from beginning to end. You wish you could once and finally be heard and understood. You know that will never happen.

I’m all done with hating you. It’s all washed out of me. I hate people hard, but I don’t hate them very long.

The twenties are as frenetic a decade as the teens. You have a voice inside your head repeating I want, I want, I want, but you don’t know what you want or how to get it. You hardly know who you are. You go on instinct. And your instinct mostly pushes you toward adventures you won’t grasp until you look back on them. Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward, some sage once said.

I fear I will always have to chase the things I want. I’ll always have to wonder whether I’m truly wanted or whether I’ve just been settled for.

Be picky about who you keep around you. Personalities, words, and traits rub off naturally.
