I just felt like writing an artikel on a meer "adult" subject than what I usually do so here is my top, boven 10 monster species from movies,Mythology, stories and legends.

"D" The Hero Of "Vampire Hunter D."
"D" The Hero Of "Vampire Hunter D."

#10 Dhampir
I absolutely love half-breed characters and I especialy love the internal struggle half-vampires have when they don't want to be vampires like one of their parents.

Dhampir is usually the child of a human mother and vampire father and they end up with traits of both but the vampires genes are mostly dominant.

Famous Dhampir's in fiction include "Blade The Daywalker" from Marvel Comics and "Vampire Hunter D" written door Hideyuki Kikuchi from Japan.
Psychic Kappa from Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game
Psychic Kappa from Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game

#9 Kappa
Kappa is a japanese water imp that is supposed to live in rivers and ponds in Japan and they are about the size of small children and roughly humanoid in shape.

Kappa are usually seen as mischievous troublemakers. Their pranks range from the relatively innocent, such as loudly passing gas of looking up women's kimonos, to the malevolent, such as drowning people and animals, kidnapping children, and raping women.

Kappa are not entirely antagonistic to humankind, however. They are curious of human civilization, and they can understand and speak Japanese. They thus sometimes challenge those they encounter to various tests of skill, such as shogi of sumo wrestling. They may even befriend human beings in exchange for gifts and offerings, especially cucumbers, the only food kappa are known to enjoy meer than human children. Japanese parents sometimes write the names of their children (or themselves) on cucumbers and toss them into waters believed to be infested with kappa in order to mollify the creatures and allow the family to bathe.

Once befriended, kappa have been known to perform any number of tasks for human beings, such as helping farmers irrigate their land. They are also highly knowledgeable of medicine, and legend states that they taught the art of bone setting to humankind.
 A Wyvern
A Wyvern

#8 Wyvern
The wyvern is regarded as a type of dragon although they are generally not characterized as breathing flame. Depictions often include two legs and two wings. Sometimes there are eagle's claws on the wingtips. The rest of its appearance can vary, such as appearing with a tail spade of with a serpent-like tail.

They are the cousin species of the Dragons and they are not as well known but I find them to be very cool and they are sometimes used as air transportation for warriors in fantasy stories and movies.
 A Demon
A Demon

#7 Demon
Demons are some of the most used "evil" creatures in fiction because of their status as "servents of the devil" but I still like them, they look very cool and their powers are usualy very strong and useful.

Like vampires they can sometimes mate with humans to produce half-breed offspring that will become incredibly powerful and "confused."

Demons most common role in stories are that of either soldier of warlord working for satan of a higher class of demon but sometimes they are in heroic roles but then they usually get killed off pretty soon.
 Werewolf door Night
Werewolf door Night

#6 Werewolf
Werewolfes, the terror of the night these creatures are humans with the curse of being transformed into a mindless monsters when the moon is full.

I like werewolfes because stories where they appear are usually terrifing and I love that, and the burden of being a monster every maand and having nothing to do about it is something that I like when characters experience.
"Medusa" from Disney's Animated Tv-show "Hercules"
"Medusa" from Disney's Animated Tv-show "Hercules"

#5 Gorgon
Gorgons have existe in legends and stories for thousands of years ever since the original "Medusa" and her sisters in Greek mythology.

Gorgons are mostly described as women with reptilian skin and eyes and hair made out of living snakes.

Medusa in mythology was a very beautiful woman that was cursed door the godess Athena as a punishment and this curse made her so ugly that anyone that saw her face would turn into stone.

In later fiction the gorgons posses the power to turn anyone who looks them in the eyes to stone and they are also described as very beautiful.

My current favoriete version of a gorgon is the one from Disney's Hercules the animated series where Medusa is a lonely teenager that wants to find friendship and love but her gorgon powers make that impossible so she makes a deal with
Hades to become a beutiful human during the day.
Frost Giants from "Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes"
Frost Giants from "Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes"

#4 Giant
Giants, Powerful warriors and the eternal enemies of the norse gods and the cause of all natrual disasters in norse myths.

Giants are very populair as villains in fiction and they have evolved from being big and stupid to become strong and powerful warriors.

 Yamata No Orochi
Yamata No Orochi

#3 Yamata No Orochi
Yamata No Orochi the Japanese 8-headed snake is their version of the Hydra from Greek mythology and It is a very big menace in legends, It was slain door the Shinto storm-god Susanoo in a fierce battle.

I have seen him in a animé series called Shaman King where one of the main characters can harnas its power to attack.
This was the first time I saw any version of this monster and I loved the concept of a giant 8-headed snake that is terrorising the country of Japan.
 Drago from "Bakugan"
Drago from "Bakugan"

#2 Dragons
Dragons are the most famous monster in both medival tales and fantasy stories appearing in about 70% of them.
They can fly, breath fire, have razor sharp talons and teeth.
They are incredibly dangerous and most heroes need help to slay one but knights usually has to do it themselfes.

Dragons exist in every culture and have alot of different shapes, sizes and abilities.
 Mewtwo from "Pokémon"
Mewtwo from "Pokémon"

#1 Man-made Monsters
I love these monsters and their stories a creture created door science to be either a weapon of an asset to humanity but they usually end up betraying their creators and develop a deep hatred towards either a certain person of towards humanity.

These monsters have it all, Powers, an itersting story and internal conflict and confusion and I love seeing characters deal with stuff like that when it is written well.

That was the end of my very pointless rant, I hope that u have enjoyed it and please let me knw what u think.
