BRUCAS VS LEYTON VS LUNDSEY

Brucas

OK, so the dream involved a lot of playful banter (eg. "Lucas Davis"). I think that Brucas will always love each other on a certain [lower] level, but they'll never revisit the relationship that was doomed from the start. With that said, the dream itself was luke's subconscious/heart/whatever-u-wanna-call-it picturing his life if he were to marry brooke. The dream itself was meer metaphorical and I think a lot of people took it literally (luke didn't think his life with brooke would literally be that way - dreams are never literal).
For example, the flowers Brooke gave to Luke to give to her was Brooke's sense of humor. I also think it was metaphorical. Brucas' relationship in the past was a lot of what Brooke wanted it to be [in certain aspects]. She had to make Luke explain his feelings for her again and again to make her at ease (3.13, 3.17, 3.22, the eppy where she zei she wanted him to fight for her when she kept flirting with other guys, etc.). She had a lot of expectations that weren't met. So [I believe] deep down, Luke's dream represented how brucas' relationship brings and would bring Luke out of the person he is, and make him meer tailored to the person brooke would want him to be - which would not make him truly happy in the long run. Brooke brought out a different side of Luke which was fun, new and exhilirating in highschool, but in the end, Luke needed to be true to himself (chad even zei it in an interview).
Furthermore, there'd also be a lot of business involved in brucas' relationship: Luke with his writing, Brooke with her company. It wouldn't litteraly be the way it was in his dream, but I think it painted an accurate metaphorical shadow of how the tone of their relationship would be set a lot of the time. Think about it...Brooke came back to boom heuvel cause she wanted to start a family, but if it was Luke she settled with, there'd be nothing keeping them from travelling together/apart. Luke would already be travelling on occasion with his book, so it is possible that Brooke would feel inclined to do so as well, instead of being left in TH to wait for him all the time.
Anyhow, that relationship is not what Luke would want in the end (I think brucas knew they'd never be as happy together as they could be apart/with other ppl/as friends).

Leyton

Very home pagina bound. No glamour, just Leyton. "Is this what u wanted Peyton?" he asks. I think deep down, Luke still wondered if he could make the woman of his dreams happy. After 505 and after chasing after her in the past only to get burned, Luke still found himself wondering if he was worthy of Peyton. But right then, he realized that it was him. Not the fancy restaurants, not the fancy ring, not the showmance, but him; it was him who made her happy. He realized he was enough for her. His insecurities were shut up, and he realized that it doesn't have to be complicated at all. The pair of them need to get over themselves (Peyton did it in s4/5; Luke's doing it in s6) and just be together. The scene of them in their home pagina was simple, but simple in a way that shows all they need: eachother. No glamorous trips, no external entertainment (dinner/movie)...There was nothing in the mix to add to an already complete collage of love.

Lundsey

Lindsey was Luke's trophy wife. "It's easy with us, isn't it?" Luke asked. "Easiest!" zei Lindsey. Easy doesn't mean destiny - I believe Luke had that epiphany in his daydream. It's "easy" can mean the easy way out. In reality, the great forevers are worth fighting for. They usually require to be fought for; hard. Waiting is also a painful task required for such happy endings. Lindsey wore a mini overhemd, shirt tennis looking outfit. She was blurred (courtesy of a soft lens camera) and glowing in the sun. All smiles with a perfect appearance. Luke knew then [I believe] that his relationship with Lindsey was a back door fantasy. Fantasies are great and all, but they're not real - and we often outgrow them; and are left wanting.

Conclusion

Whatever couple we ship, we need to realize what the dream did for Luke. He found love three times. However in the end, he needed to find his home; who he is; where he fits. I think we're all smart enough to figure out [now] what the 5 seasons represented for Lucas, and how they brought him up to his final crossroad. It was never really about choosing the right road to cross. It was about being brave enough to kruis it with faith & humility ("I guess I always knew." - Luke). They'll come off to some as boring, corny, destructive, lacking chemistry...yes, the lijst goes long on people's dislikes in leyton. However u don't need to like Leyton to see how they meld together, finally...at peace. Now that Luke has reached a new maturity, it's up to Leyton to walk their path in that newfound mutual maturity to see if it leads them to forever.
