hilaries (peyton) acting has got better and better each season, shessuch a great actress! :)

Hil started out decent, sunk in s2, was decent again in s3 with a few stand out performances in between (3.16, 3.21, 3.22), she got better in s4 (excluding a lot of her love scenes with chad), and she SHOCKED me in s5. I was like, "what did she take???" I was amazed. peyton was bumped up to my fav character and hil my fav actress! She's still strong this season and is continuing to deliver great performances (6.06 with Mick when she was holding back tears; her dynamic was great; she had strength in her heartbreak - amazing!!).
Sophia has steadily delivered throughout the seasons. Not much growth there. I think she reached her peak in s3 and stayed there through to now.
James reached his peak in s2/3 then went back down (never as bad as s1, but still mediocre) with a few stand outs in between.
Chad started out pretty strong, then just got worse and worse and reached his all time low in s4. He came back strong in s5! That was refreshing! He's "alright" this season. I'm looking forward to 607. He looks like he'll deliver well, lol.
Bethany has always been strong and reached her peak in s5. She was great (argument/ultimatum with nate in the premiere - perfection!).

Whenever she does a scene where she has to be emotional its awesome with season 5's emotional scene with Chad was amazing she has gotten better every season.

I definitely think Nathan is Most Improved. He was a young newbie in S1, and now he can hold his own in a scene and is able to play on the same level. I think working so much with Joy really helped him b/c she is so professional and had been in the business so long I think she pushed him to get better.
Then Jackson came along and really pushed James to get even better, I think James shines the best in scenes with Jackson, he is able to really push himself b/c hey he can't be out done by a 7 year old lol.

nathan has definitely been the most improved!

hilarie is awesome now. but in season 1 she had never done acting before so she wasn't that good. Sophie + beth have been good all the way through, James is not that good anyway and chad's has got worse . . :P

Peyton's acting is the same in every season. I think Nathan's acting has gotten better.

I never thought she was bad but she was so little when the show first started. She even sounded different, y`all should watch the Pilot again.

I love hilarie she has improved so much nd is the best female actress on the show james is the best male hes improved so much. chad has got really bad s.4 he was so cheesey and sophia always been just ok ,bethany has always been the best and now her and hilarie are at the same level.

kathiria82 i watched the pilot again the other day and lol i was floored by hil's voice, its changed so much, she sounded so young and slightly kiddyish there.

im going for james, i think because he had more room to improve, i always thought he was the worst actor out of the core five but he just blows me away sometimes lately, they should use him more and really give him something juicy.

It's wrong that you write their character's names. It's not the characters acting that has gotten bether, but the actors.
