'Orphan Black': What new threats will the Clone Club face in season 3?
Check out the exclusive first 'Orphan Black' season 3 image (with intel from creator Graeme Manson)
‘s season finale, it was uncovered that there’s a competing male Clone Club run by the military. So far, we’ve met Prolethian Mark (Ari Millen), military man Miller and the unhinged Rudy, aka Scarface. But there’s a question of how much these clones actually know about Project Castor, especially when it comes to Mark. Now, EW can reveal what many have suspected: Mark was a spy all along!
“What we learn this season is that the Castor men have been self-aware from a very early age,” Millen says. “They are part of a secret military experiment and they are very regimented and trained to be soldiers. They know Mark was sent undercover to find out what the Prolethians knew, and in the meantime, fell in love and realized that maybe he doesn’t want to be part of this world anymore.” (Get more scoop on the Castor clones here.)
In a bid to be free of his clone brothers, Mark eloped with Gracie in the season finale. “If he could just disappear and have a white picket fence, an acre of land, and raise a family, he would be the happiest person in the world, but obviously we know that things don’t come easily on this show,” Millen says. “His brothers are not going to let him get away that easily.”
