I Will Find You
Chapter Two
Unbearable but Comforting
Annabeth didn't sleep that night.
She had gone back to camp half-blood from Olympus with no luck.
She hadn't even bothered to go for dinner. She went straight to the Athena cabine and slumped on her bed.
She thought of nothing but Percy.
She remembered the way he would hold her, hesitantly. For the first few weeks of their relationship Percy had been utterly nervous around her. He would blush furiously every time they kissed. Annabeth had found it absolutely adorable.
Percy would always be her guy. It was his nervousness and simpleness that attracted her to him.
Annabeth pushed the thought away. She started to feel a terrible pain in her chest. She couldn't beer to think of Percy.
When the time came, the Athena cabine started to fill in with its usual campers. Annabeth quickly made herself busy in various things so that no one would get the chance to say meer than two words to her.
Soon it was ten o'clock and people started getting ready for bed. Annabeth went to change and then snuggled up in her quilts.
The quilts did not make her feel any warmer.
When all the lights in the cabine were off, Annabeth could not help but return to her thoughts of Percy.
She thought of the way his jet black hair so handsomely framed his face. She thought of the way his green eyes could look into her with so much passion.
She found herself thinking of the new and improved Percy.
Though Annabeth loved the nervous, blushing old Percy, she was so much meer drawn to the new one. The one that was missing now. The one she missed the most.
Percy had no longer been bashful around her. In fact he made her go weak in the knees now.
The way his strong hands had carried her nearly a maand geleden when she had injured her ankle.
The way he talked with such passion and determination about the things he believed in.
They way his eyes burned with strength. Strength that made Annabeth feel weak.
Yes, Percy Jackson had definitely changed. And she liked him better this way.
Annabeth found herself sobbing into her pillow.
She tried to keep her sobs quiet, not wanting to wake anyone up.
She tried and failed.
Drake, one of Annabeth's brothers, got up and sat volgende to her on her bed. Annabeth knew it was him before she looked.
It was always him. He was her "Big Brother". And despite how annoying and over smart he got sometimes, he was always there for her.
She didn't even have to say it before he asked.
"Missing Percy?" he gently brushed her hair out of her eyes.
Annabeth nodded her head. Suddenly she found that she was crying even more.
She buried her face into his chest and cried her hart-, hart out.
"Shh... It's okay... It'll all be okay..." His words were comforting but Annabeth couldn't help but think that they would have made her stop crying ages geleden if they had been coming out of Percy's mouth.
Soon Annabeth couldn't cry any longer. She felt like she had squeezed the water all out of her.
A little, who mannetjeseend, drake and Annabeth had not noticed was awake, walked up to them.
It was Krista. A seven jaar old girl Annabeth had found five months geleden with Percy. She was one of Annabeth's favoriete siblings since then.
Krista didn't ask of say anything. She simply reached out and hugged Annabeth.
Annabeth found that Krista was somehow reducing the pain.
Being so close to something of someone she and Percy had accomplished finding together made Annabeth feel better.
It also had a lot to do with the fact that Krista was the cutest thing Annabeth had ever seen!
Krista smiled up at her and Annabeth smiled back.
"You know, I think you've got meer demi-god magic in u than u realize." Annabeth told her softly. Krista smiled.
"You shouldn't think about him so much if it hurts you..." Krista zei in an adorably squeaky voice.
"I know... It's just that thinking of him is unbearable, but at the same time it's..." Annabeth struggled for words, but Krista took them out of her mouth before they had even come to her mind.
"Comforting?" She asked.
"Yeah...exactly." Annabeth said.
And she made up her mind there and then. She wasn't sure what had triggered up the decision, but she was not going to wait any longer. She would set out tomorrow morning to find Percy.
And she wasn't coming back without him.
