Years ago, I used to watch a great deal of old films on late night television. My two favoriete channels that offered these films were Turner Network televisie (TNT) and the American films Classic (AMC), which used to air films without any commercial breaks. On TNT, I had stumbled across a Western movie originally released door MGM Studios in 1953 called "ESCAPE FROM FORT BRAVO" (1953) and fell in love with it. Any fan of the John Jakes’ NORTH AND SOUTH trilogy would be meer than happy to tell u that the worst entry in the author’s saga about two American families in the mid 19th century was the last one, "HEAVEN AND HELL: North and South Book III". If someone had told me years geleden that I would find myself watching the 2004 BBC televisie adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell’s 1855 novel, let alone purchase a DVD copy of the miniseries, I would have dismissed that person’s notion as inconceivable.
