Actually I wouldn't really care. But in pokemon, all the characters tend to stay basically the same (like how the series has been going for around ten years, and Ash isn't any older, and doesn't look any different). Ash falling in love would be too major of a change. Plus the fact that little kids who watch the show only watch it for the battles.
