Rajesh Khanna, affectionately called Kaka is the first superstar of Indian film industry who enjoyed incredible fan following. Rajesh Khanna was a populair Bollywood actor during the seventies and eighties. Rajesh Khan joined the Congress party in early nineties and was elected as the Member of Parliament during 1991-1996.
Rajesh Khanna was born as Jatin Khanna on December 29, 1942 in Amritsar, Punjab. He was adopted door his parents’ relatives who were childless. His father was a jeweller and that’s how he became vrienden with Ravi Kapoor who later became populair as Jeetendra. In fact, Rajesh Khanna helped Jitendra prepare for his auditions for his debut bollywood film.
Rajesh Khanna was romantically linked to Anju Mahendroo for a while and later married Bollywood diva Dimple Kapadia in 1973. Dimple Kapadia was just sixteen when the two got married. In fact her first film ‘Bobby’ was released six months after their marriage. The couple is blessed with two daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna, both former actresses. Twinkle Khanna is a renowned interior designer and is married to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Rinke Khanna is married to Sameer Saran, an entrepreneur. Owing to Rajesh Khanna’s extremely busy schedule, Rajesh and Dimple got separated and Rajesh Khanna was rumoured to be involved with Tina Munim. Though Dimple and Rajesh Khanna do not stay together, the two share an amicable relationship.

Rajesh Khanna won the Filmfare Best Actor Award for ‘Anand’, ‘Sacha Jhutha’ and ‘Aavishkar’. He also received the BFJA Best actor Award for ‘Anand’, ‘Namak Haraam’, ‘Bawarchi’ and ‘Amrit’.
