I live in one of the hottest US states, so I'm pretty much over heat. Plus, the cold means boots and coats and layers. I love boots and coats and layers.
^I'm the complete opposite. I live in one of the coldest states in the U.S. (like we get Arctic blasts and all that fun stuff).
Hot weather is a lot more manageable to me than cold weather is. Putting on four layers of clothing every time you want to go outside for half the year alone gets very, very tiring, and the number of things you're able to do outside is extremely limited. You can't casually go out for a stroll or socialize with friends outside if there's cold weather, and for an outdoorsy person like me it's really frustrating. Not to mention the symptoms of cold are, IMO, worse than symptoms of extreme heat. Heat can make you feel sick and lethargic, but cold.... the cold can be physically painful. Walking outside and feeling like your legs, toes, and fingers are being stabbed with knives is not fun. I'd take sickness and lethargy over frostbite any day.
