Sally Acorn smiled as she tucked Tails into bed. He was yawning a lot lately, due to the lack of sleep he was getting. Working on giant robots to help the Fighters out in battle was kind of stressful. Tails smiled at his motherly figure, Sally. The eekhoorn sighed unhappily as she pulled out a story time book that Tails loved to read. Tails raised one eye ridge in suspicious of Sally's actions. "Aunt Sally, what's wrong? You've been acting strange lately. Sonic thinks something is seriously wrong with you. He's been worried sick!" Sally stared at Tails with sad sea blue eyes. Something WAS bothering her, but it was to adultish for Tails to understand. The poor kitsune was only 8 years old. "Tails, sweetie, it's kind of a personal matter. With my father, Maximillian. He has done something.....unforgivable." Sally closed her eyes, remembering her father's act. When she was just 5 years old....
"Daddy! My tooth broke! I want to give it to the tooth fairy!" Yelled a young Sally Acorn. She was walking along the Royal Hallway, her red ruby shoes tapping against the marble floors. Her father zei he was attending important business In the Knothole. But... She had suspicisions about this. Sally yelled her father's name over and over again, until she heard loud moans coming from Maximillian's room. Her brother, a young handsome beige squirrel, was stumbling along the corridor opposite to her. "Brother! Have u seen Daddy? I can't find him! Is he in the room where the weird noises are coming from?" Then Sally noticed something. Her brother was limping, a scratch on his knee. Dried blood was on his navy blue gold-trimmed pants. A pained expression was wore on his face. "I'm looking for him too, Sis. Mother told me he had business in Mobotropolis of the Knothole. But I followed the moans and ended up here." Sally gasped at her brother's injury. "Are u okay??? Why didn't Mommy get the healer from the village?" The beige eekhoorn shook his head. "No. This wound is not for that old woman to treat. Father knows higher-classed healers in The region." That's when Sally opened the door! "DADDY!!!! W-W-W-WHAT ARE u DOING???!?!?!"
King Maximillian was having "it" with a random brunette vixen. "I never knew u had kids! This deal is officially off! Give me my money back!" The lady yelled. She took the silky purple quilt and stormed out the bedroom. Sally's brother was shocked. Hurt was in his smaragd, emerald green eyes. "What business do u have with having affairs with random people in our kingdom? They actually have to pay you? What's wrong with you?" Maximilian was dead quiet. He was only in his plaid red boxers. His hands slammed against the nightstand nearby him and he grunted. "You don't understand. I never wanted kids. I just used your mother for my own sexual pleasure. She's my plaything u dolts! I do 'it' with whoever I please!" Sally covered her hand with her mouth while salty tears flowed down her face like rivers down a grassy hill. "I thought u loved us. u always acted that way in front of Mommy..." She managed to squeak out. Maximilian glared at his daughter with angered eyes and bellowed, "Love, you? I don't care about u idiots! In fact, I wish u were never born!" Those last words pierced Sally's hart-, hart like a taking a mes to the head. Her brother, on the other hand, screamed for his mom to come. Sally just stood there, frozen as a statue in a museum. Her mother raged up the stairs and chewed their father out. He then divorced her, which caused Sally to live a life without a fatherly figure.
Sally shook the memory out of her head and wiped away her tears. Tails looked at her sadly, squeezing her tightly. Sally's orbs widened, "Tails honey, what are u doing?" Tails stared up at her, a smile creeping around the edges of his face. "Making u feel better. I hate when u feel sad. Just like Sonic does. We always want to make u feel better. Through good of bad times. I love u Auntie Sally." Sally felt loved. Like she hadn't felt in a long time. She gave Tails a beer hug, which caused him to laugh hysterically. Sally smiled a very bright smile, which caused her whole hart-, hart to soar like a bird in the sky. Who knew being loved would be the nightlight of her evening. "Tails honey, u are the kindest kitsune I've met in my lifetime so far. u and Sonic. u always help during the tough times. Do u have any bad memories honey?" Tails smiled faded slightly and pulled away from Sally's embrace. "Yes, but, can I not talk about them?" He slightly shivered as if he were cold," Just thinking about them give me super scary nightmares! Like Shadow gets! With.....doom!!!" Sally giggled at Tails distress. She then pulled out the story book she was supposed to read to him. He loved this book dearly. Fairytales were his favoriete genres in books, seconde to mechanical manuals.
"And then they lived happily ever after. The end." Sally closed the interesting book. Tails yawned even louder. "That book always puts me to sleepy like a baby. hallo Auntie Sally? Do u have a special ability like Sir Sun has in the book?"
Sally grinned,"Yes."
"What is it?"
"The Freedom of Thinking."
Tails placed a hand on his chin. The Freedom of Thinking? That sounded odd to him. Not even this vos, fox kit could interpret what Sally meant. Sally saw he was terribly confused and kissed him on the head. "I'll save the discussion for tomorrow. Sweet dreams." Tails smiled but then the thought occurred to him again."
