When I was young Fred was my favorite character because of his leadership qualities most of the series' he was in but it changed to Scooby about a few years ago..so yes but just once.

I'll say! I have this nasty habit of picking a favorite character, skipping a few years, and then re-picking the one who'll be my REAL favorite character forever afterward. Shaggy used to be my favorite character for reasons I cannot recall. At that age, it was probably just because he was cutest (I didn't used to have much interest in the show so shallow decisions can be expected). Then recently I re-discovered Scooby-Doo entirely, and sure enough, my favorite had changed to...Fred.

My least favorite character, whom I'd always thought of as "that guy who's just there" and "ascot guy" had suddenly rocketed his way to first, quite shocking me. I've discovered that I love Fred's mannerisms, the way he's so easily impressed, how his traps never work, his undying optimism, the way he can be kind of dumb, his doofy facial expressions, and even the way his animation cels get messed up all the time! Heck, just listen to me blathering on...>__< I shall shut up with this: Freddy Jones for the win! <3

But again, I love them all, and Fred is truly great. The reasons you listed, MortalAnonymous--they are good! ;)

@fishypup: Gee, thanks. I agree that they're all great (it's just not right if you lose even one of them for an adventure), but when it comes to characters, I always play favorites. ; P
