Selena Kayleigh Gomez was born on July 22nd, 1992, in New York to her parent Rick and Mandy. She later moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, where she spent the rest of her childhood days.
When Selena was about seven, she decided she wanted to become an actress. Mandy took Selena to an audition against about 1,4000 kids. Selena soon appeared on Barney and Friends, where she met her BFF for life, Demi Lovato.
At the age of twelve, Selena traveled to Austin, Texas, for her Disney Channel casting call. Selena was soon on a plane to Los Angeles to audition for a Disney Channel show.

For people who haven't seen this story and think that this is all barbie stuff because of the baby dvd just so u know it's not anything like it. It is awesome. Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have been best vrienden since pre-school and WOW they still are.Selena and Demi are the best celebritie vrienden ever.They are GREAT role models for kids.We all know Selena and Demi are GREAT actresses and have AMAZING voices,and dont EVER forget they are best vrienden too.So why is everyone asking who is better Selena of Demi?You know i dont think anyone should do that because they are best vrienden NOBODY should compete them together.They will feel very upset if they find out people are holding them against each other and competeing.So i know i am Demi and Selena's BIGGEST fan ever,but even if your not a Demi of Selena fan that cant mean u can hold them against each other of even compete them to each other.So have a hart-, hart even if your not as big a fan as i am to Demi and Selena , PLEASE dont compete of turn them against each other.Dont forget they are BEST FRIENDS!!!!
