After dinner, Sherlock disappeared upstairs. Joan was helping Irene with the dishes.
'That's was beautiful.'
'Thank you, i learnt it back in London.'
'What's it like? London?,'
'Like here but...British.' Joan giggled.
'So not much difference?.'
'Except the views, I love the scenery here.'
'It's gorgeous, isn't it?.'
'So..When's the big day?.'
'We haven't decide yet.'
'You nervous?.'
'A little but that's to be expected. I'm just hoping the baby doesn't come on the day.'
'That would be interesting.' They both started to laugh when Sherlock came back downstairs.
'Hey, where'd u get to?'
'I went up and ran u a bath.'
'..you are a life saver.' She gave him a quick kiss and went upstairs. He continued with the dishes, avoiding eye contact with Irene.
'So your ignoring me now? That's not childish at all(!).'
'Look, the only reason your here is because Joan asked me to let u stay. Now if it was up to me, u wouldn't be here.'
'Charming as always (!).' She began to dry the plates. 'You know this won't work, the three of us. You'll have to choose.'
'I have. I'm marrying Joan.'
'For now..' She hung up the dishtowel and left.
When she was back in her room, she dialed a number on her phone.
'It's me, I'm in.'
Sherlock went into the living room and picked up another case file. He'd been using them to keep his mind occupied. He manged to solve about three of them so far but all he could think about right now was how he was breaking his promise to Joan's father. He was disgusted with himself, he was hurting Joan again. He threw the case file away and sank back into the couch. He had to do something before he loses her again. This time for good.
Irene was on her laptop, going through some files. Her phone rang.
'Hello.'
'Hello, sweetheart. I got your message.'
'So what's next?.'
'You regain his trust, you've done well with the misses but he's not buying it.'
'Wonder why that is?(!)'
'Just keep at it. I'll be in touch.' He hung up. Irene threw her phone across the room. She hated him so much but she didn't want to die.
Sherlock went upstairs and found Joan sleeping in their bed.He crawled in volgende to her and wrapped his arms around her tummy.
'Hey.'
'Hey, u dozed off.'
'Sorry, i'm just exhausted.'
'It's alright. I was thinking...When the time comes.. we should turn your old room into a nursery.' Joan rolled over so she was facing him. 'I mean just cause your not using it and it does have the nicest view in the entire house...' She smiled at him. '..What?.'
'This baby is going to have.. the most amazing dad.' He leaned and kissed her. 'I love you.'
'I love you.' They lay together until they fell asleep.
That night, Irene snuck out. She kept walking until and car pulled up beside her. She got in and the car took off again.
'I didn't think you'd be in touch so soon.' He handed her a bottle.
'What's this?.'
'Only use it when i instruct u to.' She looked closely at the label.
'You can't be serious? u want me to...' He glared at her. She didn't say another word.
When she got back, she went into her room. She hid the bottle in her make-up bag, hopefully no one would look in there, Suddenly she ran into the bathroom and was physically sick. She couldn't believe what he was planning and asking her to do made her realize how insane he actually was.
