Tbh, I can see why everyone's comparing them but Spuffy was always one-sided and I think Sookie's true love/soul mate is Eric (I think she would eventually choose him over Bill) so...(I'm a Bangel fan :D)

A bit actually...Bill is the boring brooding one like Angel both were these blonde heroine's first loves.
But then Eric and Spike are the sexy, funny, interesting bad boys with tortured pasts with will triumph in the end (well love ways anyways, seeing as Spike dies =( but then he comes back in Angel so it's all good)

I have watched a lot of Buffy lately and A whole LOT of True Blood, I am into both couples significantly, but Eric and Sookie have such a different and even more complex relationship. The blood bonds, everything with Bill, his Sheriff duties..yet Eric still finds himself forgetting them for her (i.e. books)....Buffy and Spike...its just different....he loves her just as much, just no real resemblance besides the fact that they are blonde haired, vampires, and kind of dangerous.

Yes, totally. The "bad" vamp hooking up with the heroine of the show. As well as the whole love/hate relationship. It's probably one of the reasons why I have a huge like for Sookie and Eric. Buffy and Angel were meant to be the whole "soul mates" bullshit ala Sookie and Bill.

The only thing they have in common is that they are on the surface the badboy/good girl type couple. That's where the similarities end. Sookie actually falls for Eric in the books, and is starting to in the show. Buffy never loved Spike, at least not to the point of them being together (and i loved spuffy, but I knew it wouldnt end the way i wanted.)

I completely and absolutely agree with you. I ship Spuffy handcore, recently I fell in love with Sookie/Eric. I knew that people where comparing them, but honestly, I don't see any similarities, except what is on the surface: bad vamp/good girl and the fact that these girls had other relationships with other vampires (Bill and Angel) behind their shoulders. But I cannot agree that Spuffy was one-sided, actually Buffy was really attracted to Spike in S6, even though she didn't love him yet (in S7 I believe she did, even Joss admitted that), as for Sookie it was a longer way for her to fall for Eric and to love him. Also these are two different stories, both are unique and interesting, but different.

Yes i have thought that a few times Sookie loved Bill first just like Buffy loved Angel first. Eric didn't come off as good to start with just like Spike but you started to see more caring and emotions in eric just like Spike as the show went on

It reminds me ever so slightly, but not really. The only thing that reminds me of Spike/Buffy is the change in Eric's character when he looses his memory. And even then, Eric was much more violent than Spike.
