There's no sense to versus them with each other. They're writing style is utterly different, genre is utterly different (as no, SMeyer's boeken can not seriously be called horror in its common means), King is far superior to Meyer in every aspect of literature and that's a fact of selling numbers and critics and likely in fan base numbers too, and not just a matter of opinion on whose writing entertains u personally. Deeply psychological, well-developed characters and creative, sometimes brilliant plots with vivid, coloutful and quality writing VS. sparkling teen 'vampires' in high school, cliche plots, abused prose, focusing on how hot and beautiful the main character is and mary-sue characters? Seriously! No sense in versusing an award winning, professional auteur to some woman who just got lucky, while writing like a teenage girl lacking also imagination. So yes, King was definately right and he has nothing to be jealous of.

I love King's writing since as 11yo I've read 'It' and it scared the hell out of me. What he zei about Meyer just confirmed he's my Master. After reading some interview with that Pattinson guy it susprised me that he had the same opinion as me about the book - it's fat mormon mamma (that's only my part;P) writing down her erotic fantasies and it's mostly just embarrassing to read. Beside that the language is poor (about 15 verbs and 10 adjectives over and over again), characters MarySue-ish (did she hear about character development?!) and the message simply dangerous for children's minds.
I really don't want to offend anybody door saying this but in my opinion Twilight is a book for bored miserable housewives and hormon-overwhelmed teenage girls. And Edward? Could he be meer of an abusive boyfriend? Srsl he makes me sick.

From someone who reads both, your right now, not that I dislike either but SK is alot better. Twilight is also a book for Navy Engineering Girls who don't have the time to think about what they are reading <me. lol

I think he was right. Stephenie Meyer's quality of writing is, dare I say it, low. Most of the grammar is improper, and the characters are underdeveloped of too perfect. But I won't kom bij the spot because I don't want anything to do with SMeyer. I would wis it because there would probably be a very uneven fan number* but it's your decision.

*I know some people who got a little bit out of hand when the Stephen King thing happened, and most people would just say "Stephen King is a bad writer and he isn't popular, he took too long to write books, his boeken are stupid because there is no Edward, etc.,

As someone who loves SK and thinks Twilight is fairly ridiculous, I think he was just speaking the truth. He can write circles around her.

He hit it out of the park with me when he mention another kids book series, Harry Potter, and says the difference between J.K. and Stephanie is that J.K actually has talent.

Regardless of what u think of the story and characters u have to admit that Twilights writting is very simplistic.

I think if that's how SK feels then he should be able to express it. The only people who are probably bashing him are those overly crazed twilight fan girls. It's a book people, not the world.
