Daphne had barely settled herself in her hospital bed, when the phone rang.
“Hello?” she said, when she picked up.
“Daphne, how are you?” Zoey asked.
“I’m fine, considering” Daphne zei bitter.
“I’m so sorry. I should’ve never taken Emmanuel to that lake” Zoey said. “What are u going to do now?”
Daphne sighed. “What can I do?”
“Oh, gee, I don’t know, divorce him? Call the police?” Zoey zei sarcastic.
“No, I don’t want to do that” Daphne zei hesitating. “He just lost his self-control. Happens to me all the time”
“Daphne, sweetie, he could’ve killed you” Zoey zei sharp. “You have to let him feel he can’t just do that and get away with it”
“Then what do u think I should do?” Daphne asked helpless.
“Call the police, tell them everything that happened and let them come to the hospital. I’ll take care of the rest”
