Hmm, Jim has made some major mistakes this season; like combining the birthdays and getting everyone locked into the office. Jim really is trying though. Pam seems to have more specific career goals though.
I think Pam is more ambitious when it comes to her career but Jim is definitely ambitious when it's about Pam. He's doing everything he can right now to be someone she can be proud of (and someone her parents will like)
I have a feeling when Jim got to Dunder Mifflin any real career ideas went out the window when he met Pam.
And he hasn't really thought about doing a job he likes because he's so used to the office. He's still not really thinking about another job. All that really matters is Pam which is really sweet but maybe not the best idea.
I think this also illustrates one of the biggest problems I have with Jim: He cares way too much about what other people think of him and not about the things that really matter (hmmmm maybe he's even more like Michael than I thought). It takes something like the approval of Pam's parents dangling over his head for him to actually do his job instead of finding his own reason to take initiative.
Needless to say, my opinion of Jim has gone way down this season. Strangely enough, my opinion of Pam has gone way up.
