Avatarzan You have to remember that all these photographs were taken in the 1930s, most in Hobart Zoo, people thought differently then. Their farms & livestock was their #1 concern & coming from Europe, they saw these animals & imediatly thought "Wolf" or "Tiger" & they imediatly thought they were a threat, when we don't really know if they were or not. The truth seems to be that Thylacines prefered native animals as a food source anyway, but they were checking out these new animals at night, being carnivors. So i'd say that if these guys were born in captivity (& i doubt it) someone loved them, I do know the Bushranger Daniel Morgan was burried with a Tylacine skin, as he thought it to be so beautiful & knew they were on the wanted list, like himself. The answer to youre question is "I don't know, nobody does", lets hope the Tasmanian Devils do better, now that awareness has been raised by these guys sad demise.
