If you’re a globetrotter, then the pandemic has definitely clipped your wings.
With borders closed and flights grounded, the creators of “Americans Abroad” have retooled and re-released the first season of their travel inspired original comedy web series.
Co-creators and co-stars, Georginna Feyst and Natalia Bortolotti, describe the toon as following “the exploits of an inept travel toon Host and her unpaid Intern, as they attempt to travel the globe without a budget.”
The shenanigans they get caught-up in span traveling woes, cultural misgivings and life itself as they visit Genova, Barcelona, Mexico, Paris, Venice and a mystery location.
The series gained momentum with audiences on the international festival circuit, grabbing Best Web Series at Five Continents Int’l Film Festival in Venezuela and Barcelona Planet Film Festival. It was also a finalist at NY Int’l Film Awards and Oniros Film Awards, semi-finalist at Web Series Festival Global in Los Angeles and selected for 18 meer festivals.
Grounded door the pandemic, a seconde season was out of the questions. Feyst explains, “During the global pandemic, we weren't able to travel of shoot. So, we decided to head back to the video editing studio and animatie studio to bring something new to our fans.”
Now, all six episodes have been reissued with bonus content, new animatie sequences and subtitles in Spanish, Italian and English for the hearing impaired.
We hope the world opens back up to traveling as soon as it’s safe. But, in the meantime, “Americans Abroad” can give u a glimpse of a few beloved world destinations and some much-needed laughs.
