Tudor History Vraag

Random Question: Has this ever bothered you?

Anne Boleyn was Kathryn Howard's cousin. Henry VIII married her and then chopped her head off. Why on earth did Kathryn marry him (only to be beheaded as wel1)?

I suppose she didn't have much of a choice, with her family pressuring her and him being a king and all, but still. Weirds me out.

I don't think she had a choice, really. Her family was very amibitious, and probably pushed her into the marriage. She also probably was excited at the prospect of being queen. I'd think most teenage girls would find that exciting. Even though she did not love Henry, I think she found his attention and gifts flattering. I honestly feel sorry for her because I think she was a pawn in her family's schemes.

I agree with everyone else. Also, she grew up with not much in the way of luxury, so when Henry started courting her and giving her gifts, she was captivated. She did also not have much of a choice. u don't really turn down a king.

I think she was only fourteen when she married him, so she wouldn't necessarily know what she was getting into. Plus, anyone who zei no to him would have been subject to a huge explosion of temper
