This is hard and I really don't know which couple I think had better build-up (and while I really like both couples- I'm not such big fans of their shows [90210 and GG]).

I really like Dan & Blair's build-up so I don't want to belittle it at all, but I guess I like Liam & Annie's better just cause Liam & Annie always had chemistry and some flirting behind their "hatred" for one another. In the first 2 seasons I didn't see Dan & Blair as flirting when they bickered- I just saw them as bickering because they had difficulty getting along. Not that they actually hated each other: of course not. And they did have chemistry in the earlier seasons too, but I didn't see it as sexual tension/frustration, the way I saw Liam & Annie's bickering as sexual tension. And I kind of like that. I like when the spark was always there and the relationship just develops over time (not as much when both the spark and the relationship need to develop over time).

But I really like how both couples went from not getting along, to confiding in one another, to becoming close friends, to then developing a romantic relationship.
I just hope Dan & Blair keep that sarcastic/feisty/witty aspect of their relationship because I felt like Liam & Annie kind of lost that when they got together.
