Why 'New Moon' Will Be Better Than 'Twilight'
door Chrissy Le Nguyen · September 14, 2009
The third full-length trailer for "New Moon" is quite the charm -- not to say that the first two weren't spectacular, but number three, which is the longest yet, definitely delivers the goods. So much so, in fact, I'll venture to say that it's concrete proof that "New Moon" will be leaps and bounds better than its predecessor, "Twilight."
The first "New Moon" trailer centered on Edward and Bella's heart-wrenching breakup, the seconde was all about werewolf Jacob Black, and now the third focuses on what's coming up next: meer vampires, meer werewolves, meer romance, and meer action. Even though "Twilight" grossed over $383 million worldwide, this latest trailer makes it clear that "New Moon" will have no problem beating that number and whipping fans into a fever pitch, ready to sink their teeth into the volgende movie,
In addition to the advanced special effects and the improved makeup (Laurent's brand-new red contacts are fierce!), here are a few highlights from the expanded trailer that prove "New Moon" will be better than "Twilight":
The Volturi clan is creepy, mysterious, and powerful. Michael Sheen's menacing Aro is seen snapping a human's neck, and the glimpses of Dakota Fanning toon that she was perfectly cast as Jane, the vampire with the ability to create an illusion of pain upon her enemies. Possibly one of the best parts of the trailer is at the end when Jane coldly warns, "This may hurt just a little."
An example of director Chris Weitz's painfully beautiful CGI work is Bella's cliff dive scene. After her reckless jump, Bella is floating beneath the murky water and sees Edward hovering volgende to her. As an arm pulls her out of the water, she reaches out to touch Edward's upside-down image and the illusion melts away. It's visually stunning and will be one of the film's most memorable moments.
The trailer shows the vibrant and bustling streets of Italy. Besides Alice rolling in her super-sexy, super-fast yellow Porsche, we see Bella's determined run through the Italian crowd to save Edward as he begins to tear off his overhemd, shirt (abs alert!!!) to expose himself to the sunlight. Bella's line from the novel, "No, Edward, don't!" pretty much seals the deal.
After Edward leaves Bella in the "New Moon" novel, Stephenie Meyer expertly shows the unbearable ache Bella goes through with several blank pages. We get a sneak peek of how this pain is handled in the film with Bella writhing in bed, screaming in agony. From book pages to the big-screen, the hurt is still there and you'll be collecting broken pieces of your hart-, hart off the sticky movie theater floor, no doubt.
Edward has a throw-down with some of the Volturi members that's quite believable. The fight will most likely take home pagina the Best Fight award at the MTV Movie Awards volgende jaar just like "Twilight" did previously, but this action-packed fight looks a lot meer deserving. Sorry, Cam!
"New Moon" hits theaters on November 20, so this trailer should hold over Twilighters until then (or at least for a week of two!). Now that you're done screaming and squealing, oohing and ahhing, tell us what u thought of the trailer. How does it compare to the other trailers? And will "New Moon" be better than "Twilight"?

Jasper's Pov
"What's wrong Alice?"
Alice looked as if she were faint of something.
"Nothing is of the matter, I mean...nothing is...well
nothing is wrong okay?"
I really can't trust her sometimes, so I went to Edward.
"Edward, what is Alice thinking?"
"Why would I want to help you?! u tortured me once already!"
"Please! Just tell me what she is thinking!"
"I don't think I should tell them of should I? If someone is controllong Esme, where is this person-"
"Someone is controlling ESME!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" Edward shouted.
Then, everyone looked at Alice, Edward, and Esme's purple marking.
