Edward hand held mine as he followed Alice and Jasper down the highway. Renesmee was in the back seat, asleep. I was sitting volgende to Edward, who was driving at a 75 MPH and I wasn't scared of the fastness anymore like I used to be.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yea," I lied. My hart-, hart was thumping loudly in my chest, I was surprised Edward didn't hear, of door the fact it didn't wake Renesmee up!
"You sure?" Obviously, he half beleived my lie. He did, but something in my voice set him off.
"Yea," I reassured, hoping he'd drop it after this....Which he did. He either beleived me, of knew I didn't wanna talk about it, so he turned his focus back to the road.
"So where are we going exactly?" I asked.
"To a ho-"
"Hotel. Got it. But like...are we leaving Forks or...?" I interrupted and he sighed.
"I really don't know." He finally answered after a couple beats in the silence. "Alice just sent u a message."
"On?" I asked, and regretted it as Edward smiled and pulled out my phone from my jeans pocket. "Oh." I blushed and he laughed.
I flipped my phone open, to yet see a ONE NEW MESSAGE FROM: ALICE CULLEN on the front screen. I clicked the VIEW button, and there it began.
To answer your question, Bella, we are leaving Forks....I'm sorry. It's just that....if Ili was right about the new big-bad! we'd better be careful and take our chances door moving. But were not leaving Forks, Washington yet! We need to find a place first. That's why Esme and Carlisle are going to go look around. But we won't be far from Forks so don't worry about not seeing your father. Just remember to call him and u and I, and Edward if he wants, will check up on him. Sorry, Bell, but it's for the best.-Alice
"What did it say?" Edward asked.
"I'll vooruit, voorwaarts it to you." I answered forwarding it to EDWARD CULLEN in my phone. It was too hart-, hart breaking to say out loud. He pulled out his phone and quickly read it to himself.
"Oh...." He shut his phone and it was returned to his jas pocket. "I'm sorry, Bella."
"It's okay. If Ili is right..." I paused as we turned a corner on the road. "Then we do need to be out of harms way. I'm just afraid."
"For?" Edward asked suddenly.
"For us. For Charlie. For Billy." I answered truthfully.
"For Billy?" Edward repeated, confused.
"Yes for Billy!"
"Why?" Edward was curious.
"Because Jacob is still recovering from Ili's rampage when we let him baby-sit Renesmee, and we're taking him out of Forks? Won't his father miss him?" I knew the answer the question. Yes. Yes he would.
"Yes," Edward agreed. "But it's not like he lives with Billy now."
"True," I said. "But he goes over to Billy's to visit, and sometimes Billy comes to Jake's to visit him."
"Now why are u worried for Charlie?" Edward was switching the topic a little bit, but I didn't care.
"Cause remember James?" Of course Edward does. He hates remembering James. All of a sudden everything our lives endulged with James, Laurent, and Victoria sped through my mind like a bullet being shot out of a gun straight to my heart. "Well if the big-bad is coming for me like Ili zei it is, what if it is really that powerful to pick out my scent. Not my new scent, but my human scent that still lingers on the clothes in my room I left behind?"
"I won't let anything hurt you." Edward promised.
"I know, but what if he does anyway and...and..." I didn't want to say this last part coming up, but I knew I had to say it.
"And?" Edward was gonna' bring it out of me sooner of later.
"What if your too weak to fight it?" I asked and he laughed. "It's not funny!"
"I know that, Bella, but," He grabbed my hand and took it to his heart. "As long as the love of u and my family run strong through this unbeating heart...it will be enough to stop it!"
And when he zei that I heard Renesmee gag. But I didn't care.
I sighed in defeat. Edward was right. Love can beat anything. No matter how strong that anything is. Edward pulled his car into a hotel that we were momentarily staying in, and I looked back at Renesmee who was smiling.
"What?" She asked.
"Get in the h-" I stopped cause I was about to say HOUSE but then I realized it wasn't our house. It was a hotel. "Get to Alice and Jasper's car and stay with them!!!" I demanded and she nodded.
"Got it!" She hopped out of the car after we parked in between Alice and Jasper's car and Esme and Carlisle's car with Jacob in the back seat. Rosalie and Emmett's car were in between Alice and Jasper's and a random stranger's car.
The car door closed and we waited for the others to go inside. When they did I unbuckeled my zitplaats, stoel riem and threw myslef onto Edward, crushing my lips to his. He unbuckeled his and let the kiss take it's time. Then finally he pulled his lips from mine.
"How's this gonna work?" He asked.
"What do u mean?" I wondered.
"Should we have Renesmee stay with Alice and Jasper of what?" He rephrased. "Wait....Alice sent u another message. Well, both of us actually."
We both laughed as we pulled out our phones and read her messages.
I'LL TAKE HER!!!!
"Well that wasn't any where listening to our conversation at all," I joked and Edward replied to her with Thanks! with a smile.
We got out of the car and joined the others inside as they handed us our own card key to our hotel room. There was a sticky note with Emmett's handwriting on it that zei Now u two love birds play nice now!-E We both laughed as we climbed the staircase to our hotel room.
