I'm surprised that they never adressed this in Eclipse, but I certainly hope, for Jacob, that he will imprint on someone else. I like Jake but he's a complicated placeholder.

I love Jake, thankful that he didn't imprint on Bella. that would make things incredibly difficult. Jake deserves someone MUCH better than bella anyways.
read Stephenie Meyer's Q&A's on her website, they address this question

exactly what twilovers said and it's not something that he can force. We would know if he imprinted on her or not anyway.

jacob said in the book (i think it was eclipse) that he did not imprint on bella, when she asked him

If he'd imprinted on Bella in that moment (and it happens the first time you see the person after you've phased), he would have answered all her questions. Pretty much, he would have given her anything in the world she wanted. (When he's staring at her on the bottom of page 173 in Eclipse, he's trying to make himself imprint on her. But that's not something you can force.)

He couldn't have because he wasn't a wolf when he loved her and when he first saw her so he couldn't have! He might imprint on another girl though!!!=)

Unlike others, I don't wish he will imprint, because that seems so.. unatural and forced. Maybe he might fall in love with someone else.
