I like all of the above, but what I love the most is the heart of the show...which includes what was stated above, like the way the cast plays the characters you fall in love with them, and you just can't look away...but I think my favorite thing about Ugly Betty really is the evolution of Daniel/Betty both seperately and together, as the writers have said their friendship is the heart of the show, and it really is for me as well, and I love to see where it will go for the rest of the season and for the rest of the rest of the seasons as well...

i agree. and i know a lot of people have insisted that they don't want betty and daniel to get together- particularly most gio and getty fans. though according to america ferrera and eric mabius, they have said, although this hasn't been made official that they don't want betty and daniel to get together, but i think that is the direction this version will be heading, just like the original columbian telenovela.

Why i started watching this show back in 2006? Well, because Eric Mabius was hot and it had Vanessa William in it, of course.
Now seriously, Ugly Betty WAS a show I used to promote because it was a way to comunicate to the world (and specially the US comunities) about the Latino heritage -and other minorities- in a humorous and adventurous way. To present a "feel good" show based in the lives of Latino/Gay/Women leading characters.

So yeah, it was the message you could trasmit to people. I am latinamerican and now I dislike the leading character... how about that? I can't believe Silvio Horta (a latino and gay producer) missed the mark so easily after season 3.

beatrice- i first started watching UB after the US critics raved about it, well the first season and so when channel 4 in the uk bought the rights to the show, i knew i had to watch it. also, marco pennette, who was one of the writers on UB was co producer of a sitcom called 'caroline in the city' which i was a fan of before i became a fan of UB. but yeah, i love the characters, the humour- although some of it can be a bit daft and silly-, the storylines and the performances. I also became a fan of michael urie's straightaway after watching season 1 of the show- he is just amazing as marc and brings so much to the character.

as for your dislike of betty, well you've made it clear on several occassions how in season 3 she has gone backwards instead of forwards. i loved season 3 as you know but i was annoyed most of the time by the suarez's- not just betty but hilda and ignascio also. justin's cool though, i have no qualms about him.
