Are mexican-made Volkswagens as good as German-made Volkwagens

I do not know much about Volkswagens, but I really like them. I know that mexican cars are probably cheaper than new Volkswagens, but are they reliable and easy to find parts for? Also, are the mexican made cars associated with the Volkswagen company and have a Volkswagen policy?
