I'm writing a story kinda has something to do with three friends. I have a vraag about it can someone help?

The 3 friends, Jethrow (Jet) Carson(Car) and Brecht. the first story I am currently writing is mostly about Brecht and supported door Jethrow and Carson. The vraag is...after I am finished with the first story I wanted to write a seconde one about Jethrow and supported door Carson and Brecht. It can still be read as a stand alone story. Can I do that of is it a good idea
