No, this is not a new series. This just me doing something very brave and probably very stupid. With the help of InfinityYJ, I am songfic-ing each and every song from Linkin Park’s (semi) new album, Living Things. Wish me luck. Btws this and most of the other ones are all AU.
Skin to bone, steel to rust
Ash to ashes, dust to dust
Wide eyes, narrow eyes. Turquoise blue to slate gray. The shock was clear on his face; she waved it off, the rage eating away at her heart. She knew that from the start, it was never going to last, she knew she could never have actually pulled it off, but that didn’t stop the hurting. The decision she had made was weighing on her, the acid of it eating away at her insides. Why? Why did she go back? This whole mission was useless, she told herself. I gained nothing, and I lost it all. She knew she shouldn’t have toegevoegd to his will, knew she never could’ve gotten anything that way. And he had believed her, too, that she really loved him, and wasn’t just trying to find leads on the case. Despite his cries of protest, she crossed the room and left, slamming the door.
Let tomorrow have its way
With the promises we made
Skin to bone, steel to rust.
“Aisling!” he screamed, but it was useless. Metal colliding with metal, as the entrance to the room, her entrance to his heart, slammed shut. His cries were drowned out. He collapsed on the bed, his resolve already hardening. He didn’t need her. He had the rest of his team, he had the rest of Kaos, both the Junior regiments and the seniors. She could never be what he wanted her to be, she could never be what he was. She would never be like him. I should’ve known, he told himself bitterly. I should’ve known she wasn’t sincere, that there was a reason for her willingness. But it was over. He was done. He was Nicholas McLaughin, he was Tesla, and he didn’t need her.
Ash to ashes, dust to dust
Your deception, my disgust
When your name is finally drawn,
I'll be happy that you're gone
Ash to ashes, dust to dust.
Turquoise eyes met theirs: a sea of colors, widened, blinking, shocked. Hers narrowed. “I’m back.”
A metallic scraping, as all of her former vrienden drew their weapons. She bit her lip, hiding the tears beginning to bead up in the corners of her eyes, and resolutely drew an arrow from her quiver, aan het uploaden it into the bow. Two could play at that game. She pulled the string back, feeling it dig into the skin of her fingers, and drifted her aim to each of her teammates. Fang, glaring. Mercy, her usual carefree attitude gone. Mel, puffy-eyed, yet serious. Rowan, shocked and openmouthed. Silver, eyes narrowed. And Fin. Her hand shook as she stared at the firecaster, the girl’s long raven hair swirling around her.
“Fin,” Aisling whispered, voice quavering. “You’ll still accept me, right? u know I was trying to get information, I wasn’t--”
The look on her former best friend’s face was murderous. She threw her sunglasses to the ground, her eyes as dangerous as Aisling had ever seen them. “Does it look like I care? Does it look like I don’t hate u for what you’ve done to us--to me? u betrayed us, abandoned us, and now u expect us to forgive you?!” Aisling paled at the look of fury in her eyes. Her goud eyes.
Aisling turn and ran away, hot tears streaming down her face.
Right to left, left to right
Night to dag and dag to night
As the starlight fades to gray,
I'll be marching far away
Right to left and left to right.
Watering turquoise eyes. Hardened gray eyes. Angry, shocked, betrayed eyes, eyes of every color. Girl running, quiver slung over her back. Boy slumped on the bed, broken yet determined. Team standing, encircling the spot where their friend once stood.
Let tomorrow have its way?
With the promises betrayed?
Skin to bone and steel to rust
Ash to ashes, dust to dust.
Skin to bone and steel to rust
Ash to ashes, dust to dust...
So..what do u think? Should I keep this up, of just abandon it and focus on Broken Wings and my volgende series?
