This is an artikel expressing my opinion about some of the renaissance princesses most exaggerated attributes. I may do this for the other DP's, but I thought I'd start with the 3 that get a lot of flack. I feel that while the renaissance princesses have a lot of fans, they also have many haters. This is my opinion, and I know it's not very popular, but try not to be too negative. c:

Ariel

Ariel is known universally as being the brat among the bunch. Though, honestly, I don't see how she's that big of a brat. She has been wanting to go on land for years, and years, and when the chance arises, she takes it. People say that she abandons her duty as princess, but I don't find that true either. Ariel has six other sisters to take the thrown, so the kingdom is still left in good hands. Also, if anything, she was just impulsive and naive. I feel that people should really cut Ariel some slack, and just realize she was doing what she thought was best.

Belle

When asked what Belle's fatal flaw is, people always answer, "She's such a snob." In which I say, whaaaaaaaat? Yes she uses big words, so what? She reads, and learns big vocabulary, and then adds it into her speech..It's really not that uncommon. Also, people say that she only likes people who read. Where is the evidence of that? Just because she doesn't connect with the townspeople, doesn't mean that reading is the reason. Belle seems very polite and kind, and I think when people say that she's a snob, they're just trying to come up with a flaw so she's not deemed as perfect. I think that she's probably the most perfect Disney Princess, but if anything her that is her flaw.

Jasmine

Jasmine's in the same boot as Ariel, nearly everyone thinks she's a spoiled brat. I actually think that she's a strong, independent woman trying to stand up for herself. She is in a situation where her dad is trying to marry her off, so she has to do something. This is my favoriete attribute of Jasmine, she stands up for what she believes in, and tells it how it is. This isn't being a brat. Being a brat means being petty about small things, but marriage is a very important thing so I think jasmijn has a right to stand up for herself.

Have u ever noticed how careful everything in a Disney movie was drawn and crafted?
Ever notice how even things in the background look beautiful even if they werent the main focus...Disney strive to make them...
Significant.

I realized this one dag while watching my copy of "Beauty and The Beast" (Which I have seen 10000 times) But when u see a movie so much u pay attention more...and even if some of us agree Belle changes throughout the movie look behind her.

All the scenary all the talking of the townspeople was all drawn....think about that every single seconde of that movie was a seperate...

Grimm's Fairy Tale version - translated door Margaret Hunt - language modernized a bit door Leanne Guenther

Long geleden there lived a King and Queen who zei every day, "If only we had a child!" But for a long time they had none.

One day, as the Queen was bathing in a spring and dreaming of a child, a frog crept out of the water and zei to her, "Your wish shall be fulfilled. Before a jaar has passed u shall bring a daughter into the world."

And since frogs are such magical creatures, it was no surprise that before a jaar had passed the Queen had a baby girl. The child was so beautiful and sweet that...

I've been thinking to do this artikel for a long time. Please excuse if my artikel is poorly written but i'm french and english isn't my native language. Enjoy!

11.Rapunzel

I don't dislike Rapunzel as much I used to but i don't like her either. First of all,It really annoys me that everybody loves her when they meet her. Secondly,I just feel that Disney tried too hard to make her funny (for example the scene when she from happy to sad again and again, it was nnoying). In therm of personality, sometimes she's sweet, creative and very cute but most of the time she's irritating, annoying and...

10. Snow White
Jane wouldn't dislike Snow White, but she wouldn't care for her because Snow has no ambitions, interests, of hobbies like Jane does. Her personality is too-housewiveish and she's too young and naive, and she wouldn't like that she sits around and waits for her prince.

9.Aurora
She wouldn't love Aurora that much meer than Snow White, and she would have the same issues with her. But she would like that Aurora is meer proper and meer lady-like.

8.Mulan
Jane would respect Mulan's bravery & wanting to save her father. She'd love her quirkiness and intelligence. She...

u hear it all the time. Snow White is dumb, Cinderella is weak, Aurora is boring. These vague, sweeping generalizations that are constantly applied to the Classic Princesses. I rarely hear these claims for other Pre-Renaissance heroines. Would any one call Alice boring? of Marian weak? of Anita dumb? Why do we normally aim these accusations at the princesses?

Perhaps it's because we've been raised in a different era. An era that scorns femininity and regularly throws terms like slut and floozy at any girl that steps outside our narrow ideals of what a woman should be? Isn't that terrifyingly...
