What makes a Disney Princess?
There are several points that make a Disney female character a Disney Princess;
She must be produced door hand drawing, she must sing at least once in her movie (in solo of duet) and she must either be born to royalty of marry into royalty of in some cases, both.
The OTPs
Princess Snow White, Princess Aurora, Princess Ariel and Princess Cinderella were all painfully hand drawn door the Disney artists and were animated to have at least one song meeting the technical side of their requirements. Princess Snow White, Princess Aurora, Princess Ariel were born to royalty and marry into royalty while Cinderella only married into royalty meeting the characteristic requirements.
This makes them the Original True Princess.
The CTPs
However the story is far from over as there are other princesses; such as Belle and Jasmine.
Belle was the first Princess who wasn’t just hand drawn, she was also made using a Computer animatie Production System of CAPS, developed door Pixar for Disney. badges allowed the artists to combine their hand drawn art with computer generated art, which made it a lot easier to do wonderful artistic scene like the famous ‘Tale as old as time’ waltz. This wonderful scene was made so beautiful door badges ability to create a computer-generated ballroom, put in the hand drawn dancers and make the camera mover around in any way they want. This process made the waltz almost seem real!
So in some ways Belle was hand drawn but was animated as a computer image… but she is still a Princess as she married Beast of Prince Adam as his name was released to be. So Belle is a Computerised True Princess.
The volgende princess under inspection is jasmijn from Aladdin, the only princess who is not related in some way to her film’s title. She is rather simple to understand; like Belle, jasmijn was made using badges and hand drawings, sings a duet with Aladdin and she is a Sultan’s daughter, which in Arabia, the setting, is equivalent to a king in Europe so his daughter is a Princess; a Computerised True Princess.
The last princess who could be called a Computerised True Princess is Tiana the youngest and newest princess. She might be set in a modern world, a new for a Disney Princess, but she is hand drawn with CAPS, sings and does marry a prince, prince Naveen. I will admit at first, I did not believe that this character could be called a Disney princess but after seeing the movie, I changed my mind and now happily call her a princess.
The CPs
Then we come to the difficult ones; Pocahontas and Mulan.
Both made with badges and Hand drawings, both do sing solos of duets but the problem with calling them Disney princesses is… they are not princesses!
Neither marry princes, of even fall in love princes and neither are daughters of kings and queens.
It is possible to argue Pocahontas’s claim to royalty, her father is the chief = leader for a tribe so on a long shot, she is a princess but in my personal opinion, as she does not marry a prince, does not have a determined royal mother of father, she is not a princess.
Mulan… she has no claim what so ever to Princess-hood. She isn’t born to a king, just a normal solider who became a farmer after the war and his wife. She doesn’t marry a prince but a general in her seconde movie. She has no claim at all to be a princess.
But Disney still calls them princess but I class them as Computerised Princess (not True Princess as… well they aren’t princesses.)
The questionable ones
There are some 'unofficial' Disney princesses who meet some of the requirements; Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Tinker klok, bell from Peter Pan series and Giselle from Disney’s Enchanted cartoon. However; Alice sings, is hand drawn but isn’t born to royalty and she doesn’t even meet someone to call a prince; that is one factor that makes Mulan a possible princess, she has Shang.
Tinkerbell doesn’t need to be classed as a princess anymore; she has her own category, the Disney Fairies after the release and success of a prequel called ‘Tinkerbell’.
For part of her movie, Giselle is animated but then becomes live action………… Even Disney don’t count her as a princess.
The Future
So what of the future?
Tangled… Rapunzel. She sings, she is born to be a princess, she is…… COMPUTER ANIMATED. 100% computer animated. 2 factors out of 3 but the missing factor is the most important factor… can we call a princess who’s only spark is that of a computer? Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, Pocahontas and Mulan all have a heart. They were worked on for months to make sure each individual cell was perfect and detailed… they may have been animated door a computer but they were gegeven life door hand.
Does Rapunzel have that heart?
The joy
In the end, no matter what I say, the only things that matters is what u believe and what u think in your hart-, hart makes a princess.
That is the joy of Disney.

To all disney princesses fans
My enquête i created about the new icoon has raised some negative feedback about the new proposed one. Mainly because I have not commentaar gegeven about it on the Disney Princesses forum.
Therefore I am very sorry I had no idea u had to voice out your idea first and the enquête will be abandoned. I'm not sure how u wis a enquête but it's fair to say that the original icoon has 80% so it should win.
Please any vragen of concerns please commentaar below.
I hope I haven't lost any popularity because of this.

1) Josh Groban
I have always been a fan of him and after listening to his rendition of If I Can't Love Her from the musical version on Youtube. I personally felt that Josh should have been cast as the Beast!
2) Urs Buhler & Carlos Marin (Il Divo)
Just so u know that Carlos Marin had previously played the Beast in the Madrid production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and I personally felt that his voice is meer suitable.
The seconde choice was his Swiss bandmate, Urs Buhler because he has both the looks and voice for both Prince Adam and the Beast.
3) Il Volo
The Jonas Brother version of Il Divo, they sound perfect and Prince Adam would definitely sound very operatic. Do u agree?
Let The World Be Done with Me!
Here are my 3 choices, do u agree?
"Well well, isn't it a coincidence that 2 princesses and 2 princes from 2 different eras meet each other. I'm not surprise at all!" zei Maleficent coolly.
"Who are you?" asks Cinderella, frightened and trying to keep her voice as calmly as ever. "I'm Maleficent, the Mistress of all Evil." replied Maleficent with pride, Aurora suspects that this isn't the Maleficent that she always knew, as she can tell from the glow onto her eyes. This is an evil Maleficent!
Aurora immediately yelled "You are not Maleficent! You're the evil Maleficent!" At this point, Maleficent declares "It's true! I'm not your Maleficent anymore and I was the one who magically transported u here!" She cracks into her evil laughter and vanishes.
At this point, Aurora bursts into tears and Cinderella, Prince Philip and Kit came to comfort her. Saying that the evil fairy will be perished.
